Millie Bobby Brown has welcomed her first child with husband Jake Bongiovi, announcing the news online on Thursday, August 21.
She shared the news with the world
The Stranger Things star shared the news of becoming a mother in an Instagram post, writing, “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption.”
“We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
She signed the post off lovingly
The actress signed off her announcement, “And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake.”
Brown and Bongiovi got married in May 2024, and have now become parents through adoption.
Brown had expressed her desire for this
After she and Bongiovi got married last year, Brown expressed her desire to have a big family one day.
She told the Smartless podcast at the time, “I really want a family. I really want a big family.”
Brown herself is part of a big family
She explained, “I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future.”
“Jake knows how important it is to me [to have children]. Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me, personally. It’s a huge thing,” she added.
The couple have been dating since 2021
Brown and Bongiovi started dating in 2021 when the actress was 17. They later got engaged in 2023 when she was 19 years old, tying the knot when she was 20.
She told The Sunday Times in 2023 how she knew he was ‘the one’, explaining, “After we met, we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side.”
Brown didn’t want to overthink the relationship
The actress went on, “You can’t pinpoint why [someone is ‘the one’], it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with.”
