In case you missed it, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are engaged and we’re all very excited about it.
What we didn’t know, is that Barack and Michelle Obama are also very excited about it.

First of all, let’s just take a quick look back on J-Lo and Alex’s relationship timeline.
The pair first met at a New York Yankees baseball game 12 years ago, while Jennifer was still married to Marc Anthony .
But obviously, because J-Lo was not a single woman, the two had to go their separate ways.
But luckily in 2017 , they reunited — and were instantly smitten with each other.
By May of 2017, they were already Instagram official — which is a big deal for celebrities.
And by October, they were planning on moving in together. Things were moving fast!
Before we knew it, they were posing on magazine covers together, attending red carpet events, and living together.
Their relationship was the real deal , and there was no sign of them slowing down.
The pair celebrated their two year anniversary in February of this year.
And as of March 9th, they are officially engaged .
But the two have seemed very much in love over the last two years, so this really did not come as a surprise to any of us.
Alex proposed to Jennifer on a beach in the Bahamas.
The moment was captured and put on Instagram for our benefit — along with a photo of her massive $1.4 million diamond ring.
Among the thousands of fans congratulating the happy couple, was, to our surprise, Barack Obama.
He sent Jennifer and Alex a very thoughtful hand-written note from himself and his wife, Michelle .
He congratulated the two, and passed on a friendly and useful piece of marriage advice.
“Jennifer and Alex,” the note read. “Michelle and I just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement.”
Adding “After 26 years together, we can say that whatever challenges life may bring, sharing them with someone you love makes it all better. All the best, Barack Obama .”
Alex later posted a photo the note on Instagram, thanking Barack and Michelle for the kind words.
“This means the world to us,” Alex wrote , speaking on behalf of himself and his bride-to-be.
Since sharing the news of their engagement, Jennifer has revealed how happy she and Alex are.
“We’re really happy,” she told People , adding “We have an appreciation for where we are in our lives today and that’s what we’re enjoying the most.”
The pair have also shared how happy they are to be blending their families.
Jennifer has 11-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, and Alex has two daughters , Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10 with ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
“Everything that we do, we do together,” Jennifer said.
“We’re constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavors and then we’re thinking about all the things that we can build together,” she added .
“He knows my dreams and I know his dreams,” she said, adding:
“Together we feel like we’re stronger. He is my biggest collaborator and my biggest supporter .”
Alex and Jennifer have not divulged any details of their wedding plans just yet.
But things seem to be going very smoothly. Plus they have the Obama’s blessing — what more could you ask for?
The two seem to be very happy together, and we’re all looking forward to seeing the wedding photos.
My guess is that she is going to wear an extremely extravagant wedding dress. It wouldn’t be J-Lo’s wedding if she didn’t.
