One of the most infamous Christmas-themed romantic movies of all time is Love Actually . The movie has been watched and re-watched by the audience multiple times, especially during the festive season.
Now, one of the main cast, Hugh Grant , opens up about a particular scene that the audience absolutely loved.
Hugh Grant Did Not Want To Dance
In the 2003 movie, there’s a scene where Hugh Grant is dancing at 10 Downing Street to The Pointer Sisters’ song, and he was portraying the PM. He stopped dancing when he realized someone was watching him, but the scene has its own fanbase.
Unfortunately, while the audience loved it, the actor hated it. A clip from ABC’s special, The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later , hosted by Diane Sawyer shows the actor opening up about the scene.
Additionally, Grant exposed himself for his out-of-rhythm steps too!
Richard Curtis Weighs In On The Situation
The writer of the movie revealed that Hugh Grant kept saying “no”, and joked that Grant was hoping the scene would somehow be scrapped from the movie.
In fact, Hugh Grant completed the scene as an obligation rather than being thrilled about it. According to Richard Curtis, Hugh Grant was “grumpy” throughout the filming of the dance sequence.
Hugh Grant Recreated The Scene In 2017
In 2017, Love Actually mini sequel , which is a ten-minute special written by Richard Curtis, was done for the annual Red Nose Day by Comic Relief.
Hugh Grant recreated the dance in the ten-minute special to Drake’s Hotline Bling . However, it’s doubtful that Hugh Grant had any issues doing it for the fundraiser considering it’s for the children!
What Is Hugh Grant Doing Now?
Currently, the actor has three movies lined up for 2023.
First is an action comedy named Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre . Grant is playing the role of Greg Simmonds.
