We recently asked our favorite gang over at Aunty Acid’s Facebook group which actor they hate that absolutely ruins any movie they’re in, and let me tell you – they did not hold back. From Tom Cruise to Gwyneth Paltrow, these are the celebs our readers love to hate.
Will Smith
Our readers liked the Fresh Prince…right up until they hated him.
“Loved Will Smith for years. But after the Oscar’s incident, I just cannot get myself to even accept him anymore,” Corina Maddox shared.
However, not everyone agreed. Another commenter added: “It made me respect him more.”
The 2022 Oscars incident remains as divisive as ever!
Matthew McConaughey
A surprisingly number of people do not vibe with the laid-back actor. After one named him, Theresa replied: “I thought I would be the only one saying Matthew McConaughey. I have strong dislike for him, it’s almost personal.”
That’s brutal.
Will Ferrell
Rebecca said that that the longtime comedian drives her absolutely “bonkers,” with Maureene agreeing: “I agree! When I see him all I see is an overgrown Elf!”
An overgrown Elf made me laugh, not gonna lie. I now fear I will also only see him as an overgrown Elf from now on.
Liam Neeson
Like Will Ferrell, typecasting is responsible for Liam Neeson’s downfall in our readers’ eyes. Alexandra said: “know everyone loves him but he only plays ONE character so as soon as I see him, I know the whole movie already”
I can even argue this. He’s always going to be a tortured father just trying to get his kid back from whoever kidnapped them. The only variation is if he’s married or not! Well, to me, anyway.
Brad Pitt
People were very divided on this one. They either love his acting and believe him to be one of the finest actors of our time, or they loathe his acting entirely.
According to Hugh: “His performance in “Meet Joe Black” deserved an Oscar for the worst ever [performance] by a male actor. In the recent “Ad Astra” he was simply awful.”
Seth Rogan
The Canadian is definitely not high on anyone’s list. Imran said: “It’s the irritating laugh.”
Heather agreed. “It’s everything about him. Just annoying.”
I gotta stand up for my man Seth. I think his laugh is wonderful and full of joy!

Not only do a large chunk of our readers not like the multi-award winning actor, they’re tired of his recent filmography, too.
“[He] should stop being in funny films he just hasn’t got it and most of them are unfunny smut in the first place,” said Debs.

Gen Z loves Sandler for his casual style of dress and general chilled-out attitude, but our readers sure don’t!

Most of our readers picked out actors to hate, but a few actresses landed on the list – like Gwyneth Paltrow. “She releases an inner rage in me,” Vikki said.

People have grown tired of his schtick. “He plays the same character (Cockney hard man) in every movie he’s in!” Michelle Wilson said.
Now, I enjoy that about him, but I understand being bored by it!
Whoopi Goldberg
”Whoopi Goldberg (if you can call her an actress),” said Linda of the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony-winning actress.

At to top off our list, the most-hated actor is (without a doubt) Tom Cruise. Tom popped up so frequently in the comments that it nearly drowned out the other names. The top comment naming him amassed over 1,000 likes.
Heather summarized their feelings perfectly: “He makes me cringe every time I see him!!! Hate any movie with him in it.”
