Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard may be a Hollywood power couple but when it comes to parenting, they’re just about as real and relatable as the folks next door.
The 42-year-old Frozen star and her comedian husband, 48, have two daughters named Lincoln and Delta, and they always have the most interesting stories about their life as parents.
She Likes The Dogs More?

Bell admitted that she didn’t feel any connection with Lincoln when she was pregnant with her. “I kept saying to Dax in all sincerity during my pregnancy, ‘I just don’t know how I’m going to like her as much as I like the dogs’” she said. She had a change of heart, though, after she gave birth.
No More Babies, Please!
Shepard got scared once when he thought his wife was pregnant again. “I was like, ‘We’re going to turn into Jon & Kate Plus 8 or something. We already have no life! This is going to be not worth living,’” he said.
‘Not My Biggest Fan’
Lincoln doesn’t care that Bell is a Hollywood celebrity, the actress revealed. “She is not my biggest fan. She just doesn’t know what I do for a living!”
Bedtime Ritual
Shepard revealed that they binge-watch after putting the girls to bed, joking, “We get that couple hours at night where we fantasize about other people on TV.”
Comedian Dad
How does Shepard respond when the kids want to go with him to his Alcoholics Anonymous meetings? Bell said, “Because he’s a comedian, [Dax] says, ‘Don’t worry, you will.’”
Family Secrets
Shepard didn’t want the kids to tell their friends that their mom was Princess Anna from Frozen . “Either they’re gonna have fake friends or they’re gonna have people hate them for no reason,” he explained.
White Lies
On celebrating birthdays, Bell said, “If it’s, like, a Wednesday and we can’t celebrate and we’re both working late, then — guess what — your birthday is on a Saturday.”
Neglecting Baths
The couple admitted that their kids have gone “five or six days” without taking a bath. “Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” Bell said.
Math Troubles
On her homeschooling struggles, Bell said, “I attempted to give her some math problems in the beginning of this quarantine. She answered the first and second one, and then she got really sassy and wrote, ‘No’ … in the answer grid.”
