There’s never been a show quite like Schitt’s Creek . It’s bright spot in the otherwise mired history of Canadian TV, piloted by one of the greatest father/son duos in comedy.

Moira’s pronunciation of ‘bebe’ was completely ad-libbed by Catherine O’Hara.
“I said ‘bebe’ as a joke or a mistake the first time,” O’Hara said.
“Once I hit on ‘bebe’ and got a laugh from the crew, that was it.”
Nobody, including Dan and Eugene Levy, knew what Moira’s accent was going to sound like before filming.
“I remember really having to hide my enjoyment of it, and actually do my job as an actor, as a kid who has been around this accent for his whole life,” Levy said in an interview.
Noah Reid composed Patrick’s version of ‘Simply The Best’ by himself.
The touching Tina Turner cover was 100% Noah Reid according to the cast.
He did an incredible job and brought a completely unique perspective to the song. I definitely cried.
It was Eugene Levy who first suggested that Catherine O’Hara be cast to play Moira.
“I was not going to say, ‘No, that’s not a good idea,’ ” Dan said in a New York Times interview.
“When he offers up Catherine O’Hara, you take it and run with it.”
Emily Hampshire’s dream was to play Sally Bowles in *Cabaret*.
“Whenever anyone would ask me, what’s your dream role to play, years ago I said Sally Bowles in Cabaret. I loved the movie and I’m obsessed with musicals.”
She apparently told this to Dan back in season 1!
Alexis was originally going to have her own reality TV show called *A Little Bit Alexis*.
“Long before the show was even a show, A Little Bit Alexis was on a piece of paper somewhere,” Levy said during a discussion .
That would have been something.
Ted’s love for puns was inspired by Dustin Milligan in real-life.
“I didn’t ask anybody if I could start doing these puns , I just started doing it. But I got the crew to laugh a little bit… I don’t know why Dan decided to let me keep doing it, but he did.”
Eugene Levy absolutely despises getting his hair wet.
When asked “What was the biggest pet peeve that Eugene had to overcome on set?” The cast emphatically agreed ” The drip .”
Without a doubt, one of the funniest moments from the early episodes.
Annie came up with the signature hand gesture for Alexis while watching *The Kardashians*.
Annie was apparently attempting to mimic how Kim and Kourtney hold their handbags .
Once she got the motion down, she simply just removed the bag entirely.
Annie’s biggest source of inspiration for the character of Alexis came from watching *The Kardashians*.
The actress also credits Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, as well as the Olsen Twins for their contributions.
It all makes sense now, to be honest.
Catherine laughed hysterically while they were filming the scene where David has bronzer on his face.
“He looked like a goldfish caught in headlights. I couldn’t stop. I was so unprofessional!”
It is a pretty hilarious moment, I have to agree.
Eugene’s favorite episode is when Patrick comes out to his parents.
Good choice, Eugene! Without a doubt, this was one of the more powerful and emotional moments from any previous episode or season.
Watching Johnny accidentally spill the beans is pure comedy gold too.
Dan wrote the final episode for *Schitt’s Creek* in only half a day.
“I just wanted our last episode to be a great episode of TV. I didn’t want to be burdened with expectation or with making it any bigger than what it is.”
Catherine O’Hara was the one who decided that Moira should wear different wigs.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon , the late-night host was curious as to who came up with the inspiration for Moira’s wigs.
Catherine quickly replies “I have emails to prove that it was mine!”
Dan Levy’s favorite scenes to write were the ones where Alexis would talk about her celebrity encounters.
“Those stories were my favorite things to write. I will miss those stories so much.”
