The internet is having a free-for all after Adam Levine debuted his “corn hawk,” aka cornhows shaved into a mohawk.

The corn hawk hit the internet via Instagram.
Adam Levine posted his new hairstyle to his Instagram story, dubbing it the “corn hawk.”
From the front, it’s really…not so bad? I mean, the discussion of appropriation aside, he’s definitely had worse hair.
Mm, lemme show you the back, though.
You know how in Star Wars , you know someone is a Jedi-in-training by the long braid they have randomly growing next to their otherwise short hair?
Adam’s braids look like he just started his Jedi training…yesterday.
Some people just straight-up don’t like it.
I mean, this isn’t the weirdest hairstyle he’s ever rocked. Remember when he decided to bleach his hair?
I think he was aiming for platinum, but he landed closer to Guy Fieri.

There’s so many articles online outlining how harmful appropriation is.

Cornrows are a polarizing issue.

That’s why people don’t like when white people wear cornrows. It’s not a fashion statement.

Guys, this one broke me a little. The caption is fine, but the hashtag? That took me right out.
Remember what I said about those Star Wars Padawan braids? Right there. You can see what I mean right there, in all their stubby glory.

People in his replies did not agree with him, however. Many said that Adam had the right to wear whatever hairstyle he wants.
Which is correct! If we lived in a perfect world, that is.

Maybe Adam is just bummed out that he’s not doing this season of The Voice ? Some people go through it via their hair, after all.
