Patrick Dempsey has always been a dreamy Hollywood heartthrob from his youth until his age, and his surprise blonde hairstyle has women swooning. The 56-year-old spent six hours dyeing his silver black hair into a blonde hue for his upcoming movie, Ferrari .
They didn’t call him “McDreamy” for nothing! He earned that nickname but didn’t realize it takes time to look fabulous. During his promo tour on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Dempsey shared his first hair-dyeing experience saying, “I don’t know how women do it.”
Becoming Piero Taruffi

Dempsey told Kimmel that the process freaked him out, so he called his wife, Jillian, for help. The hair started golden yellow but changed into a platinum blonde look to match his character, Piero Taruffi, a silver fox in the fifties.
When Jill told him he needed more products, including a toner, he reached out to the hairstyling crew, and they spent six hours getting it done. Dempsey said he got many calls after that look went viral.
Movie Projects – ‘Disenchanted’ And ‘Ferrari’

Next, Kimmel and Dempsey discussed the latter’s upcoming movie, Ferrari , with Dempsey describing it as a dream job come true. His natural love for car racing came in handy to the point of his children asking if he loved sports more than them.
If he could become a full-time car racer, the 56-year-old would do it, but he can’t because fans wouldn’t get roles like Disenchanted. Dempsey is already teaching them to drive as they’re almost to the age where they can get their licenses.
‘Ferrari’ Is A Star-Studded Movie
Ferrari has a star-studded cast from Adam Driver to Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and Dempsey. It chronicles the life of the Italian driver and later entrepreneur who created one of the fastest cars ever, Enzo Ferrari.
It’s set in 1957, the year of Ferrari’s marital troubles and the iconic Mille Miglia race. STXfilms is distributing the $90 million budget movie set to hit theaters late next year before a streaming release on Showtime. Dempsey revealed that the movie is ready for post-production.
The Blonde Hair Goes
Surprisingly (or not) Dempsey’s new look offended some people and since his hair is part of his dreamy image, he changed it back to its natural black shade with gray streaks. He got good and bad comments in equal measure via Instagram .
The Grey’s Anatomy alum admitted that blondes really “have more fun” as the myth goes but his fun ended with the filming of Ferrari in October.
