Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop, is no stranger to controversy.
I mean, they once suggested that renting a yacht is “affordable” …
But some fans took things too far when they spread hate on a nude photo the site recently posted.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle website, Goop, is coming under fire again.
The website, which was founded in 2008, has been at the center of criticism over the years.
Like that time Gwyneth said that she gets stung by bees on purpose…
“I’ve been stung by bees. It’s a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy. People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful,” she wrote .
Uh … we’ll stick to our face masks, thanks.
Speaking of “beauty,” she also recommended that readers get their vaginas steamed.
The site explained the process by saying that “you sit on what is essentially a mini-throne, and a combination of infrared and mugwort steam cleanses your uterus, et al.”
According to them, it’s a must-try if you’re ever in L.A.
Or when they suggested their readers to buy a $15,000 vibrator…
“Yep, it’s a 24-karat gold dildo,” they said .
If you’re looking for something more affordable, though, Goop suggested their readers buy camel’s milk for $103 a month.
It’s a steal , really.
The website even crashed in 2014 when Gwyneth and her former husband Chris Martin announced their divorce.
Even now in 2019, “conscious uncoupling” is still being joked about.
This past July, fans spoke out against the brand after some people spent nearly $6,000 for Goop’s U.K. wellness summit.
They said that Gwyneth hardly made appearances and when she did, she was surrounded by security.
They were also reportedly bombarded with advertising materials at every turn.
Surprisingly, the latest attack on Goop has nothing to do with 24-karat gold vibrators or controversial beauty treatments.
This time, it’s related to a nude image that the site posted a few days ago.
It was posted to promote a story by energy healer, Dana Childs.
Fans soon became shocked by the provocative post and even began criticizing the woman’s body in the photo.
“Her rib cage is showing,” a fan wrote, while another said, there’s “nothing appealing about her back.”
“Such a superficial idealized image—really,” another fan claimed.
Someone took a strong jab at the website by saying that they’re promoting an “unrealistic body image.”
“Get some clothes on for goodness sake! No prizes for getting naked outdoors. What’s this supposed to mean? I’m empowered so everyone can have a good look at my unclothed body? Not cool,” added another follower.
Thankfully, there were a ton of people who stepped in to defend the woman.
“Dear Haters, while you speak of body image, you hate this body? Acceptance of ALL body types includes this body too.”

Some were even questioning whether it was Gwyneth in the image or not.
“Gwyneth saluting her staff every morning,” someone wrote.
Goop ended up taking to the comments to confirm that it wasn’t Gwyneth in the image.
They also thanked those who were celebrating body positivity.
Aside from Goop, the founder has found herself at the center of controversy plenty of times before.
It’s led to many people calling her “pretentious.”
Like that time she made us all jealous of her fast metabolism.
“I eat whatever I want. I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable,” she’s said.

Speaking of diets, she had people confused when she said what her kids like to eat.
In a Goop newsletter, she wrote, “They love a brown rice stir-fry, but they also love their ‘Coke of the week.’”
“My daughter gravitates toward fresh fruit and raw nuts but will inhale a bag of hot Cheetos at the airport. It’s all about balance.”
And to think we ate chicken nuggets 99% of the time growing up like chumps.
There was also the time she upset “regular” mothers with her controversial statement.
“I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it’s not like being on set,” she boldly said.
While Gwyneth ended up clarifying her statement on Goop, saying her words were “taken out of context,” people still didn’t react well.
And “I’m not a mom but Gwyneth Paltrow saying its harder to raise kids as an actress than as a “regular working mom” MAKES ME SO ANGRY.”
At the end of the day, it’s Gwyn’s world and we’re just living with it.
$103 a month camel milk and all.
As for the Goop nude scandal, neither Gwyneth nor the unidentified woman in the image have yet spoken out.
So let’s all cool it on the body-shaming, K?
