Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are seriously couple goals .
They are both hilarious talented AF, and apparently, they’ve got the whole parenting thing all figured out.
They deserve every bit of praise they’re getting for their latest parenting angles.
Dax and Kristen have two daughters, Lincoln, five, and Delta, three.
They’ve never been shy about sharing tidbits of parenting advice every now and then — even if it means getting criticized for it .
Kristen once admitted that she locks her three-year-old in her bedroom when it’s time to go to sleep.
She received a lot of backlash for divulging that information to the public.

“I’m sorry, I know that’s controversial, but we lock it when she gets in there, and we stand outside and say, ‘We love you, we will talk to you in the morning, but now, it’s time for sleep.’ And after about 10 minutes, she’ll wind herself down. And then, before we go to bed, obviously, we unlock it,” she said .
She’s also explained to her children that there is something very problematic about “Snow White”.
She asked her children if they thought it was okay for Snow White to accept an apple from the witch, a complete stranger.
“I say, ‘I would never take food from a stranger, would you?’ And my kids are like, ‘No,'” she explained, adding “And I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m doing something right.'”
Kristen also believes that talking to your children about consent from an early age, onward, is very important.
She also uses Snow White to teach this lesson — explaining that it isn’t okay to kiss someone if they are unconscious.
“Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?” she asks her daughters, adding “you cannot kiss someone if they’re sleeping!”
In the past, Kristen has opened up about how she and Dax feel, at times, vulnerable as parents.
“I don’t know what we have power over. It’s certainly not each other or our children. We don’t feel powerful. We really just get by. We feel, you know, a little vulnerable just as much as everyone else does,” she said .
She went on to share how they cover up accidental swear-words around their kids.
The explanation she and Dax give to their kids is a lot simpler than you might expect.
“We don’t limit ourselves as much as we should at home,” she said, adding:
“The way we explain it is, ‘Look, you’re 5 years old. You can’t drive my car. You can’t vote. You can’t drink alcohol. You can’t swear.’ So far, they’ve obliged.”
Dax and Kristen revealed on “The Ellen Show” that they’ve already had the “birds and bees” talk with their kids.
Dax explained that they have taught both of their girls about the male and female anatomy .
Their eldest daughter, Lincoln, supposedly walked out right when they were getting to “the good part”.
It’s likely that neither of their daughters fully understand “the talk” just yet, but it’s a great idea to start making them comfortable talking about that sort of thing — making it an open topic of discussion in their household.
Recently, Dax spoke with Gwyneth Paltrow on his podcast, “Armchair Expert”, where he explained his thoughts on having “sex positive” conversations with his daughters.
“It’s funny because I tell myself I have a narrative I’m spinning about how I’m going to be as a father of two daughters. Currently, I’m of the opinion, I’m super pro-sex,” he said .
“I am anti–having sex to get approval,” he said.
“I am anti–having sex to get someone to like you or to gain status in a social circle, but if my daughters are horny and they decided they want to have sex, I am very pro-sex,” he went on.
Gwyneth seconded his opinion and shared that she aims to be sex-positive with her children as well.
“You’re a really thoughtful father. I’m always so impressed with how intentional you are of your parenting,” she told him .
Dax went on to reveal a personal anecdote, explaining the details of his first sexual experience.
“I lost my virginity intentionally to “Love My Way” by the Psychedelic Furs in the basement of my house,” he said .
“Luckily, we got right to the action and I did not make it to the chorus and then I was just very confused,” he said.
“I was terribly young. I was in seventh grade and she was in ninth grade, so I was 12 or 13,” he added .
Assuming, due to his own adolescent sexual experience, he remembers just what it’s like to be young, and confused about sexual health.
As a result, he wants to impart that wisdom onto his kids.
Pretty genius, tbh.
Dax and Kristen’s parenting skills are controversial, but they may also be very effective. Only time will tell.
