When it comes to hiring a nanny for royal children, one would assume the training would have be intensive. They’re dealing with the future kings and queens of England here!

It was reported last year that the duke and duchess were on the market for a nanny.
The job posting went viral with millions of royal fans imagining themselves smack dab in the middle of the monarchy madness!
However, it seems the family has found their lucky lady!
Maria Teresa Turrion recently started working for the royals, as per The Independent , and now, it has been revealed that there is one word Maria was trained to never use.
Maria was trained at the prestigious Norland College in Bath.
Established in 1982, Norland remains one of the most sought after educations for nannies and caretakers.
According to their website , all Norland nannies are “expert practitioners” and are “taught to adapt” to their environments.
Royal commentator Victoria Murphy told ABC News that Norland nannies are prepared for worst-case scenarios.
“The nannies are taught everything from defensive driving to security issues to how to care for a future king or queen,” she told viewers.
According to author Louise Heren, who spent a year at the same school where the Cambridge’s nanny was trained, she must never use the word “kid” when addressing the children.
“The word kid is banned. It’s a mark of respect for the children as individuals,” Louise told The Mirror , explaining that it’s a strict rule at the school.
She went on to comment on Kate’s relationship with their nanny.
“I imagine her relationship with Maria is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children,” she said.
I love that!
Apparently, life in the royal household is pretty normal when it comes to nanny duties.
“I’ve spoken to nannies who have worked with other royal families and life is pretty normal.”
How cool is that?
Twitter had a lot to say about the banned word.
“Agree. The word ‘kids’ is a trashy and disgusting word. I would pull my child away from a school if the teachers used that word,” wrote one user.
“Good, they are children, not baby goats,” agreed another.
While the use of the word “kid” is pretty common in North America, it is less-so in England.
It goes without saying that mutual respect is so important when it comes to any healthy relationship!
Of course, some people couldn’t help themselves and had to have a little fun guessing what the banned word could be.
However, some people felt banning the word “kid” was ridiculous.
“Kid is a three letter word that is just a familiar name for children. Some papers have a [kids’] section. Children don’t read anything into the word unless adults with an obsession about it fill them in. It’s something wrong in your head, not other people’s, if it upsets you,” wrote one Twitter user.
Needless to say, the word sparked an interesting ~royal~ debate!
