We all make mistakes , right? That’s a part of life. We go through life falling on our faces, picking ourselves back up, and then we try again the next day.
While mistakes usually go away after a while and we only think about them right before we are going to bed, there are other ones that come to bite us back in the a**.
And, people are sharing those very mistakes.
Not wearing a seatbelt.
Many people think it’s okay to not wear their seatbelt for several moments while in a car. But, one person shared that they are paying the price, by being in a wheelchair for life.
Remember, always wear a seatbelt when you’re in a car, back seat or front.
Not paying attention in math class.
“Not paying attention in math class because I was “good” at math. Math lessons are compounding so if you don’t learn how to do Algebra properly for example then you’ll struggle with subsequent lessons,” shared another Reddit user online.
Drinking to counteract anxiety.
One mistake someone shared was using alcohol to counteract their anxiety. Now, whenever they are anxious or stressed, they go right for the alcohol. This can be a pretty hefty problem if they are now turning to alcohol on a daily or regular basis.
Not socializing enough.
One person said that not going out enough and socializing is one of their biggest mistakes. They turned down so many invites over the years that now, no one invites them out at all anymore.
They feel isolated and lonely now.
Anger gets you no where.
“Punching a wall. Hit the stud. The fracture in my hand didn’t properly heal as well as losing the use of two of my tendons which makes opening my hand a nuisance. As you could imagine it was my dominant hand,” one person admitted.
Starting smoking.
Another person admitted that the worst mistake that they ever made was smoking. They became addicted to nicotine and it took them several years and tons of issues later to quit.
Smoking is definitely one of everyone’s most regrettable mistakes.
Leaving college for love.
“Dropping out of college to get married. Going back in my 30s with adult responsibilities and a full time job was the most chaotic time of my life,” shared another person.
Never give up your dreams for anyone or anything. Trust!
Hiding their true selfs.
Another person shared that their biggest regret was hiding who they really are to just fit in with classmates and friends.
Sometimes, you lose out in the long run and you basically are faking who you are for fake relationships.
Not asking for help.
“Not asking my parents for help with finding things I really enjoyed doing. I think maybe if I’d joined a chess club or something like that, I’d actually have had a lot more fun and made some friends.

The volume of their music.
A person shared that they regret how loud they listened to their music as a kid and not turning down the headphones when they should have because now they have permanent ear damage and it’s irreversible.

Not “self caring.”
Some people online unanimously agreed that not caring about themselves enough and their own personal, wellbeing is something that bites them back all of the time.
It’s important to recognize how self-care is so important and putting yourself first.
Not telling them the truth!
“Never telling the girls that I liked that I liked them. Years later, 3 different ones told me: I liked you when we were in middle school/high school. I never had the confidence to let them know and I think about it every now and then,” shared another person.
Being a bad friend.
One person commented that they regret the mistake of being a bad friend. Not putting in more effort with their friendships, the effort that they deserved.
Instead, they feel like they could have done better and still had those friendships, still.
College loans.
Many people admitted that they accepted and took on college loans without actually understanding the repercussions of what they would do or mean for them later down the road.
As adults, they all suffer with interest rates and tons of debt.
Not taking the time to be a kid.
“Not taking the time to be a child.
I was always independent and pretty much spent all my time working to make money. Now that I’m an adult, thats all I really do too.
I wish a f–ked around more. Worked less when I didn’t need to,” another said.
