Carrie Underwood has no shame in getting real about her life, and what her body has gone through.
And honestly? Good for her! The more people in positions like her talk out, the more moms will feel more comfortable to talk about their bodies!

Carrie Underwood has her own activewear line, called CALIA by Carrie.
Her line is all-inclusive, and ranges from XS to 3X. And the most important part? Her leggings have frickin’ pockets .
She initially wasn’t sure she even wanted to have a brand.
She told WWD that she actually hesitated when Dick’s Sporting Goods initially approached her about her own line in 2015.
However, she soon realized that this was a dream she never knew she had, so she agreed to do it.
So she decided to make clothes that worked for her.
CALIA would come to play a key role in her fitness journey, especially after having her children.
She decided to design everything to work for an on-the-go woman, especially busy moms.
She recently took the brand on tour with her.
During the Cry Pretty Tour, CALIA came on the road with her.
They donated a portion of the proceeds from the sales of the brand to a number of school districts. In total, they raised $100,000!
She opened up about her mantra recently.
At the launch of CALIA’S winter collection, Carrie spoke to People about she and CALIA’s mantra: Stay the path.
She spoke to them about how hard it was to get her body back after the birth of her second son, Jacob.
Her first son was much easier for her.
“After having my first kid, I felt like I bounced back fast.”

She gave birth her first son, Isaiah, in 2015. She takes him on tour with her whenever she heads out on the road!
Her second son was a different story.
“And then with Jake, it was like my body took a minute to get back to me. It was frustrating, because I’m like, ‘Why wasn’t it like the first time?'”
Carrie gave birth to Jake in 2019.
He wasn’t quite a New Year’s baby, but January 23rd is still a great birthday for such a cute baby!
Carrie revealed that Isaiah and Jacob have already bonded, and Isaiah calls Jake “his baby.”
Her age makes a difference
“But I’m four years older. That also helped me shift my mindset — I’m still working hard, wanting to be the best me possible, but cutting myself slack and just thinking, Be kind to yourself.”
Women have it hard.
“It’s amazing what we do to ourselves. We’re probably all our toughest critics.”
By “we,” Carrie means women. She doesn’t identify as a feminist, but she strongly advocates for strong women.
Cheat days are not for her.
“I don’t like to call them ‘cheat days’ — you’re just enjoying life.”
Jessica Simpson had a similar philosophy about her post-baby diet — she also was okay with cheating, and would have cheat meals!
The holidays aren’t a time to be hard on yourself.
“I feel like holiday time can be stressful when it comes to health and fitness, but it doesn’t have to be. You can just say, ‘I’m going to enjoy myself on the holidays.'”
And she had a plan for after New Year’s!
“It’s all about friends and family and food and parties, and indulging responsibly. And when New Year’s is over, get back on the horse.”
I love that idea! It’s like taking a vacation from your diet.
You just have to know when to buckle down again.
“It’s like, ‘Okay, I’ve had my holiday fun. Now it’s time to get back on my path.'”
That’s a really helpful perspective, especially because the New Year is all about fresh starts.
She and her family will be practicing that on the road this year.
Rather than spend Christmas at home, all four of them will be touring!
“There’s a lot of travel, but that’s kind of our tradition because we don’t have any family that actually lives near us, so it’s just go, go, go,” she said.
