In a world where everything is so divisive, I really thought the one thing we could all agree on was that Friends was funny. Did it have its issues? Absolutely. Were there some incredibly hurtful stereotypes projected because the show was a product of its time? Without a doubt. However, at the heart of it — Friends was a show about just that — friends.
When I heard that Kanye West had posted about “Friends” not being funny and that Courteney Cox had responded, I knew I had to fill you all in.

In case you didn’t know, Courteney and Kanye had a bit of a Hollywood friendship for a while.
To be fair, I had no idea that the “Friends” alum was well, ~friends~ with Kanye, and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, until today.

Here’s a pic of the gang hanging out back in 2016 with Kim’s mom Kris + Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble, Kim’s sister Kourtney, Sasha Baren Cohen and wife Isla Fisher, and Courteney and her daughter Coco Arquette.
Now if that wasn’t random enough, Kim, Kanye, and Courteney were snapped sitting together courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game back in January 2020.

Now that we’ve established this random but iconic friend group, let’s fast forward to a comment Kanye made earlier about Friends .
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Kanye wrote: “I actually didn’t write the tweet that said ‘Friends wasn’t funny either’ but I wish I had.”
Ouch!
In response to Kanye’s message, Courteney made her own post poking fun at the dig.
In the Instagram video, Courteney is jamming to Kanye’s hit song, “Heartless,” before noticing his post. Looking sad, she puts her phone down and shuts off the song.
“I bet the old Kayne thought Friends was funny,” she captioned the video.
Honestly, I love everything about this!
