Matthew McConaughey Is Now A Professor At The University of Texas

We've all had professors, teachers, or mentors that we've really loved in our lives that we thought deserved to win awards for their work, but if asked to name WHICH awards, we probably wouldn't say "an Oscar."

Students at the University of Texas might have a different story.

Matthew McConaughey is being brought on as a professor in their Radio-Television-Film program.

As someone who graduated from a very similar program, I can say that I've had some cool professors, but never one as cool as Matthew McConaughey. Sorry to any of my old professors reading this.

Matthew earned a film degree from the University of Texas in 1993.

Since graduating, he's more than put his degree to use, starring in over 50 films, like The Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers' Club, Failure To Launch, and Dazed and Confused.

He's been a visiting instructor at the school since 2015.

The University said in a statement that his appointment as a professor recognizes "his outstanding work as a teacher and as a mentor," while his "willingness to work with students beyond the classroom" is respected.

Matthew will be teaching a Script to Screen film production class.

He also developed the curriculum for the course, so you know he's taking this professor gig seriously. I'd expect nothing less from an Academy Award winning Best Actor!

Brb, just gonna quickly sign up for some classes at the University of Texas. Well, one class in particular.
