10+ Rules Celebrities Follow To Keep Themselves Looking As Young As Possible

Anti-aging secrets have been passed down from generation to generation.

You may have heard wacky old-school advice like using Crisco as moisturizer. But when it comes to tried-and-true methods, the celebs are living proof.

The fountain of youth may not be a real thing, but these anti-aging secrets from the celebs certainly are. Here are 10+ rules celebs follow to keep themselves looking as young as possible.

1. Jennifer Aniston keeps it simple.

The star's anti-aging philosophy comes down to this advice she gave to InStyle in 2016: "sleep, water, and sunscreen."

For instance, as a SmartWater spokesperson, she guzzles down 100 ounces of water per day.

2. Jared Leto sleeps... a lot.

The 48-year-old can thank quality shut-eye for making him still look in his 30s.

"If you travel long haul a lot or don't sleep much, it's not going to last very long, that's for sure," he told GQ in 2013.

3. Mario Lopez works out a lot.

This is the reason he still looks exactly the same from his Saved By the Bell days.

He told the Los Angeles Times in 2016 that his favorite workouts include hiking, running, strength training, and boxing.

4. Margot Robbie uses a beauty gadget.

The actress told The Telegraph that she uses a micro-current device called Ziip.

It's left with her noticeable results by stimulating the production of collagen, which is one of the keys to firm, healthy skin.

5. Angelina Jolie rubs fish eggs on her face.

As an A-list celeb, Jolie has the means to afford caviar for her face. She uses La Prairie's Skin Caviar, which actually contains fish eggs and costs $710.

Beauty certainly does come at a cost.

6. Andie Macdowell eats a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.

She does so right off the vine from her own garden.

"What you eat makes a huge difference in the health of your skin," she told Allure. "I grow my own tomatoes, squash, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries."

7. Sarah Jessica Parker always removes her makeup before bed.

It's something she'll do, even if she's super tired.

"I say to my husband, 'Oh, I'm so tired, Matthew! I don't want to wash my face.' He's like, 'Why do you need to?'" she told InStyle, while adding that she remains diligent.

8. Halle Barry follows a Keto diet.

The 54-year-old hopped on the trend to stay in shape and remain youthful.

"Keto is a very low-carb food plan which actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy," she wrote on Instagram. "I also believe it’s been largely responsible for slowing down my aging process."

9. Gabrielle Union says "no" often.

By doing so, she's taking a lot of stress off her life — and her skin.

"We run ourselves ragged saying yes to every freaking thing, whether it's to our family, spouses, or careers," she told Women's Health.

She also said that she makes sure to get eight hours of sleep each night.

"A lot of people call it selfish, but I don't have any wrinkles," she said. "I drink a lot of water, I don't smoke, and I don't have a hard life."

10. Eva Mendes uses meditation.

Like Gabrielle Union, the actress is big on not letting herself get too stressed out.

One way she finds her Zen is with transcendental meditation, which focuses on repeating a mantra while sitting in silence.

Mendes told SpotCeleb that it helps her deal with life's ups and downs.

"That really helps create not only a sense of balance, but all the other stuff — this is going to sound cliché, but, serenity and kind of a calm state of mind," she said.

11. Mariska Haritgay exercises regularly.

As someone who hates working out, the Law & Order star told Allure that she gets creative.

"I'm athletic, but I'm not a gym person. I do things that feel like I'm not working out," she said.

This includes short exercise videos in her dressing room.

"I bought a trampoline for my son that we jump on together, and never in my life has my heart rate gone up so fast. It's an incredible workout."

12. Heidi Klum also uses sunscreen.

You're sure to notice a trend among the celebs: SPF is one of the best anti-aging methods there is.

"I learned not to go in the sun early on in my career," Klum told Allure. "A tan lasts for a week or two before it fades, and the sun is so damaging — it's not worth it."

13. Victoria Beckham eats salmon everyday.

Just when we thought her beauty secret was not smiling. Turns out, it's a lot fishier than that.

Ever since her dermatologist told her that it would clear up her skin, she eats salmon for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

14. Jennifer Lopez works out five times a week.

The actress/singer/dancer didn't just wake up with a body like that; she works for it using the Tracy Anderson Method.

To complement this, she eats a diet of whole foods and lots of water.

15. Paul Rudd wears sunscreen.

You're not likely to find the actor with a natural tan.

"I am a big believer in sunscreen," Rudd told InStyle in 2013.

"Honestly, I wear sunscreen not to prevent wrinkles but because I don't want to get skin cancer."
