2. He’s an Officer of the Order of the British Empire
Ewan was made an OBE in the year 2015. He adorned himself in the traditional Scottish garb and was given the honor by Prince Charles himself.

3. Ewan loves motorcycles.
Ewan has been riding bikes for most of his life. Back in 2004, he released a docu-series called Long Way Round .
The show highlighted the adventures of Ewan as he rode his motorcycle around the world.
4. He’s had a few serious accidents along the way.
Make no mistake — motorcycles are dangerous. A fact Ewan has learned all too well on multiple occasions .
Over the years, he’s had more than his fair share of near-fatal accidents.
In the year 2000, Ewan was thrown from his bike and nearly killed. Seven years later, he broke his leg.
Then, to complete the hat-trick, Ewan was once again off-roaded by a driver who failed to check his blind spot. It seems to me like Ewan gets in an accident roughly every seven years .

5. Ewan knows his way around a lightsaber.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show , Ewan’s skills were on full display! Clearly, there was no CGI involved when it came to choreographing Obi-Wan’s lightsaber battles.
Ewan admitted that he trained for months in order to make it look easy.
6. His spirit animal is a horse.
This one came straight from the horse’s mouth! When Ewan was asked which animal he most closely embodied, he didn’t hesitate with his reply.
Maybe this is some kind of motorcycle metaphor ? Or maybe Ewan just really has a thing for horses?
7. His first lightsaber battle was with a real-life rock n’ roll icon.
Ewan found out that he’d landed the part of Obi-Wan Kenobi the same night he was attending a party at legendary rocker Noel Gallagher ‘s house.
Upon discovering the news, Noel challenged Ewan to a lightsaber battle!
8. Ewan can really belt out a tune.
Ewan is quite the musician in his own right. During a charity concert celebration of David Bowie’s life and music, Ewan took to the stage and sang Bowie’s timeless hit, ” Heroes .”
He also plays the guitar as well.
9. He has a hard time mimicking the French accent.
Ewan’s wife is French and they’ve been married for more than 20 years. When Ewan was tapped to play Lumiere in the Beauty and the Beast remake, he figured he’d be able to pull it off effortlessly.
But Ewan’s accent ended up sounding a lot more Mexican than French.
10. Ewan and Danny Boyle didn’t speak for nearly a decade.
During the mid-90s, Danny Boyle directed three films starring Ewan McGregor: Shallow Grave , Trainspotting , and A Life Less Ordinary .
But when the time came for Danny to make his fourth film, The Beach , he cast Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead — not Ewan.
Ewan was flabbergasted. Not just because he’d lost out on a job but because he’d been betrayed by a friend.
Danny Boyle has since apologized and admitted that he was in the wrong. He and Ewan were able to settle their differences and reunited in 2017 for T2 Trainspotting .
11. Ewan has signed on for an Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus!
That’s right, Obi-Wan is coming back! There’s no official release date as of yet, but Ewan has confirmed that there will be at least six episodes and that the story will take place in-between episodes III and IV.
Could we see a return of Darth Vader?!
12. He may just have a future as a daredevil!
For his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon , Ewan had prepared to do a motorcycle stunt!
He rigged a small jump ramp in his backyard and tied an Obi-Wan Kenobi doll at the front. That’s right — Obi-Wan jumped Obi-Wan.
