8+ Marvel Actors Who Were More Than Just Friends

It's really not surprising that actors end up dating other actors. Especially after working on the same movie together.

Spending all those hours with each other is bound to end up sparking romance between some people, or friendship at the very least.

With that in mind, here are all of the actors in the Marvel Universe who have dated each other!

1. Robert Downey Jr. and Marisa Tomei.

Tony Stark dating Aunt May is definitely a bizarre combination that I'm sure Spider-Man would not appreciate!

Luckily for him, this romance was a short-lived one. The pair were only seeing each other for a few months back in 1994, but have remained good friends!

2. Zoe Saldaña and Bradley Cooper.

In case you didn't know, these two worked together while filming Guardians of the Galaxy. Zoe famously played Gamora, and Bradley played the voice of Rocket the raccoon.

They dated from 2011 to 2013.

3. Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly.

Jennifer Connelly played Betty in Hulk back in 2003, while Paul didn't join the Marvel alumni until much later on. Nonetheless, the pair have gone the distance!

They tied the knot in 2003, have been married ever since, and share three children together.

4. Chris Evans and Jessica Biel.

Although Jessica didn't exactly have a significant role in the Marvel Universe (she played Abigail Whistler in Blade: Trinity back in 2004), she still managed to snag Marvel superstar, Chris Evans.

The pair dated for five years and broke up in 2006.

5. Chris Pratt and Emily VanCamp.

Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt, and Captain America star, Emily VanCamp, were together from 2004 to 2006.

They met and hit it off while filming the Everwood series.

6. Tom Hiddleston and Kat Dennings.

These two, sadly, were more of a fling than anything else. They dated briefly in 2010 and were spotted by paparazzi showing signs of PDA.

But their relationship eventually fizzled out, with no definitive end-date. Nowadays, Kat is dating her Two Broke Girls castmate, Nick Zano, while Tom, on the other hand, is still single as a pringle.

7. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

Gwyneth Paltrow isn't the only Marvel co-star that Ben Affleck romanced.

Back in 2003, while working on the film Daredevil, where Jennifer played Elektra, the pair hit it off. They were married by 2005 and divorced in 2018.

8. Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Hiddleston.

Elizabeth and Tom's relationship never truly came to fruition, but it was clear that at the very least they were testing the waters!

The pair were spotted together several times, seemingly on dates. However, neither of them confirmed or denied whether their relationship was romantic or not.

9. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds.

It seems that Ryan Reynolds' picture-perfect marriage to Blake Lively has made us all forget about his dating history.

But just to refresh your memory, Deadpool was married to Scarlett Johansson, AKA Black Widow, for three years back in 2008.

"I mean, the first time I got married I was 23 years old," Scarlett later told *Elle* Magazine.

"I didn’t really have an understanding of marriage," she added. "Maybe I kind of romanticised it, I think, in a way."

"It’s a different part of my life now," she went on to say.

"I feel like I’m in a place in my life, I feel I’m able to make more active choices. I’m more present, I think, than I’ve been before.

Back in the early '000s, both Gwyneth and Ben were major Hollywood heartthrobs, so it's really no wonder that they ended up together. It's simple math.

They had a bit of a rocky on-again-off-again relationship that ultimately, did not end up working out. But it was cute while it lasted!

In an interview on *The Howard Stern Show*, Gwyneth later revealed that, in hindsight it was not the right time for them to be in a relationship with each other.

"It’s interesting, I think there’s certain boyfriends where you are trying to work stuff out, right? Like, you’re trying to heal certain stuff from your childhood and he was very much a lesson in that way," she said.

"I’m not sure exactly what I was trying to heal in that instance, but it was ...he was, ya know, it was specific."

"I think [my parents] appreciated how he's super intelligent and he's really, really talented and so funny, but he was not in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend," she added. "I think they were OK with the two of us not being together."
