Chris Pratt has a Hollywood story unlike any other. He's gone from one of the most unlikely leading men to a proverbial A-lister in the span of just a few short years.

Chris is as talented as he is hilarious but we're willing to bet there's a lot you don't know.

Test your knowledge and check out these 10+ things fans didn't know about Chris Pratt!

1. His big break was an incredibly cheesy TV drama series called *Everwood*.

WB

The show revolved around Dr. Andy Brown and his family. After the sudden death of his wife, Andy relocates his family to Everwood, Colorado — his late wife's favorite place on earth.

Chris played Bright Abbott, son to Everwood's only other doctor, Harold Abbott.

2. He lost an insane amount of weight for his role in *Guardians Of The Galaxy*.

Chris lost 60 pounds in just over six months for the role of Star-Lord.

When he was asked by Men's Journal how he was able to accomplish this incredible feat, Chris replied “Three or four hours a day of just consistent, ass-kicking hard work.”

3. Chris' father-in-law is *The Terminator*.

In June of last year, Chris married Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of the former governor of California (and former T-800), Arnold Schwarzenegger!

Can you imagine a family dinner where Star-Lord and Col. Matrix sit down at the table together?!

4. His smack-talk needs some work.

To be fair, Chris was going up against his fellow Passengers costar, Jennifer Lawrence. Clearly, Jennifer is in a league of her own when it comes to talking smack.

Chris, on the other hand, just seems too nice!

5. He's an avid fisherman.

A quick scroll through Chris's Instagram feed reveals that he's quite the outdoorsman.

Practically every other picture is Chris holding either a fishing rod or a landed fish, like this beautiful large-mouth bass pictured here.

6. Chris knows how to French-braid!

"Raising the 12th man flag is a memory I’ll never forget. The electrifying crowd, the energy at [CenturyLink], the fact that I used Just For Men beard dye on my eyebrows and left it on for [too] long and looked like Groucho Marx, all of it. Unforgettable," Chris wrote via his Instagram account.

9. Chris predicted that he would be cast in Steven Spielberg's *Jurassic World*.

It happened when Chris was filming a "behind the scenes" video for the second season of Parks and Rec. In the clip, Chris pretends to get a text from Steven Spielberg offering him the lead role.

Five years later, that's exactly what happened!

10. Chris once played Elton John's piano!

Sir Elton would be proud of Chris's piano chops! I was expecting him to be terrible and was almost bowled over backward when I heard that sweet melody begin to play.

If Chris is taking requests, my vote goes to "Your Song."

11. He's a huge fan of Mixed Martial Arts.

14. Chris owns livestock!

Take a look at this incredible video Chris made of his home farm. Watching he and his young son feed their sheep is about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Chris' farm skills have even garnered national recognition!

He raised a prize-winning sheep!

Chris' Romney sheep took home a blue ribbon at Fiberpalooza — a kind of agricultural festival of sorts.

The animal you see him pictured with above is named Prince Rupert, the ewe's father.

15. Pratt decided to take a break from acting at one point because of some advice that Jim Carrey had given him.

“There’s very few people in the world who I can expect to understand exactly what I’m going through,” Pratt told Vanity Fair.

“Jim Carrey is one of them.” Pratt took him aside at a party and asked for advice on what to do in his life.

“There’s going to be a point in life where you’re going to have to prove that your family is more important to you than show business.”

16. Wrestling taught him a lot about facing rejection but still having to continue fighting.

Even though he was once the top wrestler in the state, that doesn't mean he hasn't had his fair share of losses!

When asked by Vanity Fair about his losses contributing to his "character building," he responded, "I’d be devastated. Because I put everything into it, and if a kid beat me . . . but it’s good."

"It’s a great sport because you have to stand there and shake a guy’s hand. You look him in the eye, then his arm gets raised. No excuses. You get beat and think, [expletive]!!!"

"Then come back and wrestle him again. I wrestled the same kids for 10 years."

17. His father was a taconite miner.

If you are wondering what that is, it's a form of iron, which is a huge industry.

The Pratt family had to move to Alaska so that Mr. Pratt could work in a gold mine.

18. His father was eventually diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and did not want to have any help to treat it.

Instagram | @prattprattpratt

He ended up dying in 2014, but Chris Pratt does not have any doubt that he made his father proud.

19. He believes God had a plan for him.

"I was selling coupons for things like oil changes or trips to a spa," he said to Vanity Fair.

But he worked hardest on selling himself, trying to pitch himself to different gigs over and over again.

"That’s why I believe in God and the divine."

Instagram | @prattprattpratt

"I feel like it was perfectly planned. People talk about rejection in Hollywood. I’m like, 'You’re outta your [expletive] mind. Did you ever have someone sic their dog on you at an audition?'"

20. He works very hard with Anna Faris to ensure that their son, Jack, is happy, even with divorced parents.

Whether it was about holidays, vacations, or spending enough time with each parent, they had long discussions about what to do with Jack.

It all came down to one thing: respect. They decided to not hold any grudges, and ensure Jack stays happy.

21. He's grateful that he never felt any jealously from his brother and vice versa.

His brother wanted to be an actor but ended up joining the army, but there were never any bad feelings between them about Pratt's success as an actor.

22. He loves to take road trips!

Instagram | @prattprattpratt

"There’s just a great and beautiful country, and it was designed to be driven across. You don’t have to drive in the city, but don’t sleep on getting behind the wheel and just exploring this country. We used to road trip everywhere, and it’s American," he told Collider.

23. When asked by Collider who he wanted to bring back from the dead, he gave an emotional, but also hilarious response.

"I would probably bring back my dad, who passed away just before Guardians of the Galaxy came out, and then I would show him Guardians of the Galaxy. And then, if he didn’t like it, I’d bring back a known criminal and have him beat him up on Instagram live."

24. He thinks he was typecast because of his physical appearance.

He thinks his weight made him funnier and, because of that, he kept getting cast in dorky, funny roles.

But he thought it was better than playing the bad boyfriend so he went along with it for a long time.

25. He told *GQ* that he was a very obnoxious child.

Instagram | @prattprattpratt

"Obnoxious. I was obnoxious, really hyperactive, disruptive...but also Dad was very, very strict, so if I got yelled at, I would stay silent for a long period of time. I was really sensitive. I cried a lot. I was a crybaby for a long time. And kind of perverted. I was like a little perv."

"I was a jokester, I had a dirty mind, and a dirty sense of humor. And I was naked a lot. I was naked all the time."

Instagram | @prattprattpratt

"It was just recently, in the last few years since I’ve become an adult, that I’ve learned to keep my clothes on. And even then, I really haven’t. I got yelled at by NBC for getting naked."
