Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde's former nanny, Ericka Genrao, had filed a lawsuit against them citing the stress she went through while working for them. The former staff of Sudeikis is seeking retribution for the "damages" done.

Here's Why Genaro is Suing The Former Couple

Genaro alleges that amid Sudeikis and Wilde's tumultuous relationship and eventual split, the couple subjected her to unbearable stress and anxiety. She claimed that this was followed by an abrupt sack when she requested to take a 72-hour break from the emotional imbalance their separation led to.

Details Of The Lawsuit

Details of the legal documents obtained by ET showed Genaro stating that the couple's action of relieving her of her duty was retaliation for how she sought a reasonable accommodation for a three-day leave of absence. She noted that the rest was recommended by her doctor due to anxiety and depression.

Genaro On When The Issues Started

In the legal suit filed at the Los Angeles Superior court, Genaro explained that Sudeikis hired her in 2018, and things were relatively normal until the time he and Wilde's relationship went downhill. She added that the situation worse when the Don't Worry Darling director moved out of their home.

She Claimed Her Work Load Abruptly Increased

According to the nanny, Wilde's action left Sudeikis in a desperate emotional state that he had to lean on her for support, in taking care of their two under-10-year-old kids. Genaro relayed that she was forced to take up more duties than her job description dictated. She stated that she had to increase her role in the children's life in Wilde's absence. This also included working weekends as opposed to how she used to be off during the weekends.

The Alleged Adverse Effect On Genaro

The childcare worker revealed that she and Sudeikis often had conversations about the situation and with time, this caused her emotional stress that made her pick sides. She revealed that by November 2020, the built-up emotional stress reached an unbearable peak. her next line of action was to seek audience with the Tron: Legacy actress.

Genaro Recalled Having A Conversation With Wilde

She opened up about seeking pit Wilde to have a conversation about the situation at home. Genaro wrote that she believed the 38-year-old would be a "reliable listening ear" by virtue of how she [Genaro] was the primary caretaker of her kids. The lawsuit read, "Genaro made arrangements to meet Wilde in Palm Springs, California, where Wilde was working. During this meeting, in retrospect naively, [Genaro] confided in Wilde how [Genaro] is becoming anxious and stressed with the situation in the home because of Wilde's absence and Sudeikis' late-night conversations regarding Wilde's absence."

Genaro detailed how she felt relieved to share her inhibitions with Wilde who was sympathetic. However, by the following month, things went south. She recalled that she was traveling by car to the airport with Sudeikis one fateful day, and he told her that the Booksmart actress shared their entire conversation with him. Genaro was stunned by the revelation noting that "her heart sank because of its significance." She added that 'there was no peace when confiding in Wilde."

She Claimed The Situation With Her Anxiety Worsened

Her anxiety issues skyrocketed from that moment onward, and according to Genaro, it just kept worsening when the news of the celebrity couple's split hit the media. She recalled seeking therapy and getting the former couple's support because they recognized the emotional toll. They also agreed to engage in group therapy with her via remote sessions.

She Sought Medical Treatment At Some Point

Genaro relayed that her pain became physical at some point, and this meant that she dealt with her physical pain, anxiety, and never-ending stress. She sought treatment from an osteopath who would later advise her to stop working for Wilde and Sudeikis for the sake of her health. Genaro noted that she tried buying time for the co-parents to get another nanny as she decided to stay five months

Her Doctor Recommended Radio Silence

By February 2021, Genaro's osteopath recommended radio silence as part of her treatment. This was to be observed for three days and she was not to speak with anyone including the people she worked for. She noted that her osteopath informed the therapist who in turn told Sudeikis about it.

She Claimed Sudeikis Fired Her

The nanny explained that after the Ted Lasso star became aware of her situation, he demanded to speak with her. However, she responded that she was following the osteopath's instruction not to speak with anyone because of her anxiety. According to her what followed was an immediate termination of her contract with the family. She added that Sudeikis also contacted the nanny service company ML Management LLC to move her out of his house and into a hotel. She stated how she tried contacting Wilde for support, but that proved futile.

What Is She Seeking?

With all these laid out, Genaro is suing for the wrongful termination of her job, damages, and loss of her source of living. She is also seeking deferred compensation, attorney fees, and other employment benefits,

Have Sudeikis and Wilde Reacted?

While the duo is yet to publicly say anything about the current development, reps referred to their joint statement when Genaro had a bombshell interview with DailyMail. The ex-partners wrote at the time that it was "incredibly upsetting" for their former nanny to make such "false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.'

Their Statement About Genaro

The statement read that Genaro's "18-month long campaign of harassing" them and their loved ones has reached "an unfortunate apex." The pair penned that they choose to focus on raising their kids in hopes that Genaro would level them alone.

A Rep Spoke up

A representative close to the Horrible Bosses actor and House actress shared that Genaro developed "a pattern to try and score both fame and money." The insider alleged that this was just another of her schemes to get paid.

Genaro's Bombshell Interview

Back in October 2022, Genaro revealed the situation between Sudeikis and Wilde to DailyMail. She explained how the Cowboys & Aliens actress left her longtime partner devastated. As opposed to how Wilde shared that her split with Sudeikis was mutual and friendly, Genaro stated that it left him distraught. The former live-in nanny stated that Wilde left Sudeikis a few months after meeting Harry Styles on the set of Don't Worry Darling.
