Alex Murdaugh: Snapchat Video Shows Him in Different Clothes Before Murders

Alex is on trial in South Carolina for the murders of his wife and son who were shot dead in June 2021. One of the prosecutors showed a video of Alex at the scene of the crime before the murders. In the video, Alex was seen trying to paint a tree dressed in a light blue shirt with khaki pants.

According to DailyMail, after the murders, Alex called 911 claiming he found his wife and son dead after returning from his mother's home. When the police arrived, he was wearing a white t-shirt with shorts. His attorneys are yet to explain the change of outfit. 

Alex is accused of shooting his wife Maggie,52,  and their son Paul, 22. At 7:56 pm, Paul sent a Snapchat video to friends showing him and Alex riding around the estate. At 8:15 pm, the trio had dinner together. By 8:44 pm, Paul made a second video at the kennels with his parents which later became the murder scene. By 8:49 pm, Paul's phone was locked and it went silent.

According to the deductions, Maggie and Paul were murdered between 9 pm and 9:30 pm. By 9:06 pm, Alex started his car and claimed he visited his mom. She is in the last stage of Alzheimer's and lives in Almeda. Alex later confessed that he flipped over Paul's bloodied body to find a pulse and he could see a brain. 

A source from the law enforcement shared how Alex allegedly lured Maggie to her death. He asked her to meet him at the family's estate. He claimed his father, Randolph Murdaugh III, was sick and wanted to see her. Maggie declined the meeting at first. She suggested they meet at the hospital but later she accepted.

Sources said that at that time, Maggie and Alex had a rough patch in their marriage. On her way there, Maggie allegedly texted a friend that Alex was being fishy about. Not too long after that, Maggie and Paul were murdered. 

Before Paul's death, he was awaiting trial in connection to a boat crash in 2019. In April 2021, Paul was arrested and indicted on charges of one count of boating done under the influence.

In February 2019, Paul attended a gathering on an Island where he drank and got intoxicated. He then drove a boat with five passengers which crashed into a bridge piling. Mallory Beach,19, was thrown from the boat and her body was found a week after.

Paul pleaded not guilty in May 2019. He was released on a bond of $50,000 and no trial was set. However, this was just the start of his family's woes.

Alex was shot in Hampton County, S.C. on September 4, 2021. Two days after he was shot, Alex said he was leaving his job at Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth & Detrick. He also said he was going to rehab. The investigation of Alex's gunshot wound took another turn.

A day before he was shot, it was reported that members of his law firm confronted him about the missing $1 million. Police later discovered that Alex tried to arrange the incident so his beneficiary could receive his life insurance.
