The pair, who were married for over a decade, has finally decided to move forward but no longer as a married couple. In a joint statement, the pair laid to rest all the rumors flying around about their status and confirmed their separation.
She captioned the post "Today I reclaim my power."
In the statement, the couple stated that they're ready to share their truth, and strictly on their own terms.
"After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship."
In the lengthy caption, the star also revealed that a previous news about her confirming her separation from Brown was inaccurate and "based on a highly edited version of events that had been filmed months prior."
Looks like Meri will be dropping bombshells in the coming months following this new announcement.
"There's so much more to be told about this story, and i assure you, my truth will be told."
She continued in her statement and stated that she holds no animosity towards her ex-husband and will never make demeaning and rude comments about him, no matter the situation, time, and place.
Meri implores her followers to use their words and comments kindly, as they significantly impact her and everyone involved.
"Please be considerate of the fact that we are real people, with real lives and real emotions. Please try to refrain from congratulating me at the break up of my marriage."
The 51-year-old expressed her respect and value for the relationship they once had and hoped to enter the new year with grace, kindness, and power. She also emphasized that they still share mutual respect.
She ended her long caption by encouraging fans and followers to step into kindness with her and "put positive energy out into the world."
The ex-couple tied the knot in April 1990, making her his first wife. Kody eventually added more wives to the union and welcomed their child, Leon Brown, in 1995 after a long battle with infertility.
She, however, legally divorced Kody in 2014, after which he married Robyn Brown. They remained "spiritually married" until their latest announcement.
