Cameron Diaz has shared a rather humorous take on becoming a mother a little later than most women usually do. The Charlie's Angels star welcomed her first child at the age of 47 - she's also joked that to have as much time with her daughter, she'll need to surpass the age of 100.

Aiming High At 107

Cameron was 48 during a 2020 reveal on the No Filter YouTube series hosted by supermodel Naomi Campbell. The blonde shares daughter Raddix with husband Benji Madden, known for being the music face of the band Good Charlotte. For Cameron, being 107 is where she's aiming.

'Second Half Of My Life'

On the series, Diaz said, "A lot of people do it the other way around — they get married and have a family in their youth. I'm kind of doing it in the second half of my life."

"Having a family when you're young — it's like anything when you're young: You do it," she continued. "But when you're my age and you decide to do it, it's a real choice. You really have to work hard for it."

No Pressure!

The A-Lister actress even said, "The only pressure for me is like I have to live to be, like 107, you know? So no pressure!" In January 2020, Cameron and Benji made headlines for welcoming their daughter - the announcement was made on January 3.

'Happy' And 'Blessed'

In her IG post, Cameron said that she and Benji were both "happy" and "blessed" to commence a new decade with the news - their daughter "instantly captured" their hearts and made the family complete. She did, however, say that for privacy reasons, photos of the newborn wouldn't be shared.

Hitting The 'Sweet Spot'

Continuing as she opened up to Vogue favorite Naomi, Cameron spoke of being at her happiest and that this was the "sweet spot."

Celebs Welcoming Kids Later On

The celebrity world is filled with mothers who have welcomed their babies a little later on in life. Halle Berry has done it at the age of 47. Actress Meryl Streep was 42. Meanwhile, MCU star Salma Hayek was 41, and singer Janet Jackson was 50.

Not A Natural

Separately, per Romper, Cameron has admitted that motherhood didn't come naturally to her -

"I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother," she said.

It's Worth It!

Countless celebs including mogul Kim Kardashian and singer Katy Perry have said that their lives are complete with kids. Cameron joins them.

Keeps Quiet

Cameron tends not to give many interviews about being a parent, but she has spoken out on The Tonight Show, confirming that motherhood is the best.
