While in the festive spirit of Christmas and the yuletide, Jenna Bush Hager wants to teach her kids a fundamental lesson. The TV star has shared that she wants her children to know that they can not always get all the things they want on their Christmas wishlist. Hager made this known in one of the recent episodes of Today With Hoda & Jenna .
Hager Opens Up On Parental Goals Amid Christmas
The TV star and her fellow TV host Hoda Kotb discussed how to help kids manage their expectations amid Christmas. Jenna relayed that she did not want her kids to write Santa Claus a list this year. She recalled how she and her spouse, Henry Hager planned to take the kids to see Santa, and when he asked if the kids should get their list ready, she replied in the negative.

The star mom noted, “And I said no because I don’t want them to think that Santa is definitely going to bring all ten presents,” Bush Hager continued. “Once you start getting into the lists and it’s multiple things… we’ve lowered [expectations] a little bit.”
While Jenna, 41, knows it is pertinent for her children to know they can’t always have what they want, and should do well to lower their expectations, they are getting exciting gifts regardless.
Jenna On Gifting
The NBC star would later reveal some of the gift items lined up for the kids. Jenna shares three children, Mila, Henry “Hal’, and Poppy Louise, with her spouse of 12 years, and she still plans to go all out for their Christmas presents. The Today star stated that her gifting often leaned towards experiences. She preferred going on vacations, fun trips, or concerts. At this point, she included that they would be adopting a kitten.
Jenna noted that her daughter had been anticipating getting a kitten for a long time. The doting mom went on to talk about her daughter’s desire to own a cat. She relayed:
Christmas In Texas
Ahead of Christmas day, Jenna joined her family members in Texas with their kids, and she took to Instagram to share snapshots from their gathering. In the photos posted, the star and her loved ones dressed in their festive attires smiling for the camera, and getting their fill of the season. In the first snap, Jenna and her family posed outdoors, as she looked lovely in a black long-sleeve top and a gold neck chain.
The TV personality’s husband stood beside her looking equally sharp in a burgundy sweater while their daughter dressed up in a red sweater, checked skirt, and a Santa hat. Jenna had little Henry in her arms who looked adorable in a white sweat jacket worn over a green top.
Inside Her Family
After Jenna married her business mogul spouse in 2008, the couple welcomed Mila in 2013. Poppy was born two years later. By 2019, the children’s book author announce that she was expecting baby number three. At the time, the star mom revealed how her older kids had found out they were expecting a sibling via their Easter baskets.
She relayed how the duo was excited that they told the people at church, and “the man behind me on the airline.” Months later in the same year, Jenna gave birth to little Henry Hal.
