Halle Berry’s big break came in 1991 after she was cast to play Vivian in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever . To this day, Halle is still the only Black woman to ever win an Academy Award for “Best Actress in a Leading Role.”

Since her Oscar win for Monster’s Ball , Halle has gone on to found her own production company, a fragrance line, and she also bought a 50% stake in the French eco-lingerie company, Scandale.
However, when it comes to the romance department, Halle has always found herself unlucky in love.
Halle married her first husband, the ex-MLB player David Justice, back in 1993. They divorced after only four years amid a myriad of controversies.
It wasn’t long before Halle began a relationship with her soon-to-be second husband, R&B singer Eric Benet.
Eric and Halle had a chance encounter at the famed House of Blues in Los Angeles. They took an instant liking to one another but decided to keep things friendly at first.
Halle and Eric continued to keep in touch and began a relationship over e-mail.
Then one day, Halle had an epiphany. “I turned to him and said, ‘You know what? I think I love you ,'” she told People magazine.
Eric would later propose to Halle in 2001, during the premiere of her HBO movie, ‘Introducing Dorothy Dandridge’.
After Halle and Eric were wed in 2001, Halle adopted Eric’s daughter India shortly afterward. Sadly, it didn’t take long before things started to go south.
Shortly after Halle took home the Oscar for “Best Actress in a Leading Role,” reports began to surface that Eric had been unfaithful.
Eric eventually admitted that the rumors were true. Halle filed for divorce and Eric sought help for sex addiction .
Just when Halle was ready to give up, she got a sign (literally) that showed her who she was meant to be with.
While Halle was going about her day, she saw a photo of the Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry, smeared on the side of a bus. Three days later, they met in person during a photoshoot.
Then in 2008, Halle and Gabriel welcomed their daughter Nahla into the world.
It was a time of great joy that once again wasn’t meant to last. In 2010, Halle and Gabriel parted ways (the couple never actually wed) and became ensnared in a bitter custody battle.
Halle was attempting to move their daughter to France, where her eventual third husband, Olivier Martinez, was living.
Olivier and Halle met while filming Dark Tide. She later became pregnant with her second child, Maceo, at the age of 41, and while she was expecting — the two were wed on July 13th, 2013.
Once again, the familiar pattern reared its ugly head, and by 2015 — Halle and Olivier had divorced.
