It’s not unusual for moms to do most of the work taking care of the kids . Am I right? But that’s not always the case. Sometimes, the dad is the stay-at-home person and does the majority of the work instead.
So this one father got annoyed when people would ask him if he was only “babysitting” his daughter, and he came up with hilarious response. Something tells me this story will make you laugh, ha, ha.
Kevin Clevenger who goes by @ironsanctuary recently posted on TikTok.

And his video totally went viral. So let’s find out exactly why. After his daughter Viola was born, his wife, Brandy, decided to go back to work for a little bit, so he would often do grocery shopping with the baby.
One time he encountered a woman and she said this to him:

“Oh, are you giving Mum a break today, is Daddy babysitting?”
“Hmm,” he thought. And what he said to her next is worthy of praise. Check this out.
The dad responded off the cuff.
He said, “No, her mum actually died in childbirth, so it’s just been me and her since then.” He claimed that it just came out. I guess he was pretty annoyed by this question, ha, ha.
So, from now on this is what he does:

Whenever somebody asks him if he’s babysitting his daughter, he tells them his wife is dead. Oh my goodness. I mean, he’s a father, but people always assume he’s simply relieving his wife of her duties.
I can’t get over that.

And of course, once people saw his TikTok video, they totally agreed with him. Some of them said that they love this tactic and will start using it from now on when people ask them stupid questions like that.
Other people were like, what the heck, he’s just being a dad.

What about single fathers? Don’t they deserve some love, too? After all, they’re doing all the work just like the mom would do, so why do people assume they’re just babysitting?
Am I right?

Here’s another comment people get. This time a lady said that when she hangs out with her friends, they ask who’s taking care of the kids. It’s like they assume that the husband can’t do it, lol.
I love what this woman said here.

She already gave her fiancé permission to say that she’s dead, hee-hee. I mean, it makes no sense for people to say this, so let’s see their reaction when you respond like this.
Apparently, when Kevin said that to the woman at the supermarket, she turned ghost white and didn’t know what to say.
Serves these assuming strangers right, no?

Why should there be different treatment for fathers than for mothers? When a man is taking care of his children, he’s not babysitting. It’s called parenting. It’s the same thing as when a woman does it, so let’s try to be mindful of that and not piss these gents off, alright?
