Famed '90s actress Sharon Stone, known for her roles in Basic Instinct and The Quick And The Dead, recently got very vulnerable in the comment section of an Instagram post where she shared a tragic fact about herself.

She revealed that she's suffered nine miscarriages in her life, and at the same time advocated for more transparency on the subject so other women who are experiencing the same thing can find community support.

Actress Sharon Stone recently shared a very serious fact about her life.

She poured her heart out in the comments of an Instagram post made by People Magazine. The original post was advertising a story they'd written about Dancing With The Stars performer Peta Murgatroyd suffering a miscarriage while her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy, was in Ukraine.

The story struck a personal chord with Stone.

So she wrote a touching comment as seen above wherein she shares that she's had nine miscarriages.

"We, as females don’t have a forum to discuss the profundity of this loss. I lost nine children by miscarriage," she wrote.

She understands how lonely Murgatroyd must have felt.

"It is no small thing, physically nor emotionally yet we are made to feel it is something to bear alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure. Instead of receiving the much needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need."

Stone does have three sons.

All of whom she adopted, presumably after her multiple attempts to carry a baby to term.

This isn't the first time she's spoken about her pregnancy history, having shared quite a bit about her experiences in her autobiography, 'The Beauty of Living Twice'.

She's also thanked other women who have openly spoken about miscarriages.

In a Radio 4 Women's Hour and BBC Sounds interview, she said, "It's a devastating experience and I have to say I was really grateful to Chrissy Teigen for allowing us to publicly share what she went through."

She also thanked Vanessa Kirby for her role in Pieces of a Woman, wherein she plays a woman who has a miscarriage.

Now, Stone can join those she considers role models.

In speaking openly and earnestly about such a traumatic set of experiences, other women can look up to her as she did the aforementioned stars, and she can become a role model for this cause in her own right.
