Actor and comedian Bob Saget was left out of the 2022 Tony Awards 'In Memoriam' segment on Sunday, a fact that was called out by his co-star and close friend John Stamos on Twitter.

While Bob Saget is best remembered for his work starring on Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos, alongside his celebrated stand-up comedy career, Bob also appeared in two Broadway plays and one Off-Broadway drama over his career.

The Tony Awards 2022 took place on Sunday, June 12th.

Many expected that Bob Saget, who passed away on January 9th, 2022, would be included in the In Memoriam segment.

"Since the theatrical community last gathered as one to celebrate our art, we have lost great number of cherished friends and colleagues. Many were familiar to generations of theatergoers, theater lovers who were transported by their performances onstage or moved by their voices on cast albums," Laurence Fishburne said at the start of the segment, which honored stars like Sidney Poitier, Peter Scolari, Joan Didion, and Stephen Soundheim.

Bob Saget, despite his appearances on Broadway, was not included.

Bob's former co-star and close friend John Stamos, age 58, took to social media to express how he felt. "Disappointed to hear that @bobsaget will be LEFT OUT of the In Memoriam segment tonight @TheTonyawards," Stamos tweeted. "Bob was brilliant in The Drowsy Chaperone & Hand to God. Come on @BroadwayLeague and @TheWing! Do the right thing!"

"Bob loved Broadway and I know the community loved him," Stamos continued.

"Let's make some noise about this everyone - and send our love and good wishes to the hosts @ArianaDeBose, @JulianneHough and my buddy @DarrenCriss and all the well-deserved nominees," he added in a follow-up tweet.

Fans took to social media to back Stamos up on this issue.

"The most shocking part about this is that there was a TON of extra time in that segment to put other people in..."

"Yet they were not put in so we could see more of Billy Porter. That is not really the point of the segment (as much as people love him)," tweeted one fan.

"Oh my gosh...I just realized this. Really sad that he wasn't included and absolutely should have been. So many of his fellow Broadway co-stars loved him," one fan added.
