*Insert drum roll here.* Ladies and gentlemen, the family von Trapp!
In case you missed the memo, our beloved von Trapp Family singers from the cult-classic Sound of Music film have reunited to honor the one and only Julie Andrews as she accepted her coveted lifetime achievement award from American Film Institute.
It's hard to believe the film, released in 1965, turned 57 this year!
I have fond memories of watching the film with my family every year and holding my breath in those last 10 minutes — to be fair, who doesn't?
Earlier this week, Hollywood veteran and overall icon Julie Andrews received the American Film Institute's highest honor, their lifetime achievement award, with 5 of the 7 von Trapp family children in attendance.
Charmian Carr, who played Liesl, died in 2016 at the age of 73, and Louisa, played by Heather Menzies, passed away in 2017 at the age of 68.
In the middle was the actress who portrayed Brigitta, Angela Cartwright, who is now 69. Debbie Turner, 65, who played Marta stood at her side with Friedrich, played by Nicholas Hammond, 72, beside her.
If this doesn't just warm your heart and make you want to curl up and watch The Sound of Music tonight I don't know what will!
