We never know what life will have in store for us, and that isn't any less true when it comes to the people we commit to spending our lives with.

Whether we find that the person we married wasn't the one for us or that circumstances we could never predict introduce us to the one we love the most, stories about life and love coming at us fast are a good reminder to wait and see what will happen when we start feeling hopeless.

But while that's the message we can get from some stories, others can tell us to seize the moment because even if we're sure who we want to marry in life, we can't always predict how exactly we'll end up doing that.

And while this has had bittersweet implications for couples who discovered that life may be even shorter than they thought, one jet-setting couple's story does a lot to demonstrate that sometimes, a moment can just feel right.

On April 19, a couple named Pam and Jeremy had joked that they should spontaneously elope to Las Vegas and get married.

But as Insider reported, it apparently wasn't long before both of them realized that they weren't actually joking and by the time the week was out, they had a flight booked with an unspecified airline for April 24.

Yet while the first stage of that flight went according to plan and they landed in Dallas Fort Worth, things got a little more complicated from there.

After they landed, the couple learned that their connecting flight to Vegas had suddenly been cancelled.

As a representative from Southwest Airlines wrote in a Facebook post, the couple were discussing this misfortune when another passenger named Chris (pictured here in a sash made from snack wrappers) overheard them.

Since he is an ordained minister, he offered to marry Pam and Jeremy himself and the three of them then booked replacement flights through Southwest and raced across town to Dallas Love field airport.

And since the couple had already decided it would be fun to fly in full wedding attire, the pilot and Pam joked that they should just get married during the flight.

Once again, this was a joke that everybody involved would end up taking a lot more seriously than they realized.

As the airline's representative wrote, "For the second time that week, Pam was surprised to hear the words, 'Let’s do it!'"

So in a cabin decorated with toilet paper streamers and with a flight attendant named Julie serving as Pam's Maid of Honor, Chris officially married them with the help of the plane's P.A. system.

And as luck would have it, a photographer happened to be on board to shoot their wedding photos and a passenger passed around a notebook to serve as a makeshift guest book for the couple's surprise witnesses.

In the representative's words, "Congrats to the newlyweds on a memorable inflight wedding neither our Employees nor Passengers are likely to forget!"

That heart-shaped logo was never more appropriate.
