Anyone who has been through a divorce will tell you how absolutely exhausting and excruciating the whole ordeal can be. While I've never had to deal with the process myself, I have had many girlfriends go through the big "D" word and it sounds like a nightmare. Sure, sometimes it's painless and easy, but that's the exception — not the rule, especially if you live in Hollywood.

Now, beloved music icon and blonde cutie Kelly Clarkson is putting her divorce to bed with a final step in changing her name.

In case you've missed one of the most high-profile Hollywood divorces of the past few years, let me catch you up really quick.

in June 2020, Kelly Clarkson and her husband Brandon Blackstock announced they were divorcing after six years of marriage.

The pair share two children together, River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5.

The news of the split came as a surprise to fans, who had never sensed any trouble in paradise.

It was later reported that Kelly cited the reason for the split as "irreconcilable differences."

Soon after their public split, fans saw just how big those differences were.

As fans may recall, the American Idol winner was being sued by her former father-in-law's company back in September 2020.

Then, it was reported that Kelly's ex was asking for over $400,000 a MONTH in spousal support.

$436,000 to be exact, as reported to People.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Kelly would be shelling out a $1.3 million lump sum to her ex, as well as a monthly child support payment of $45,601 for their two children.

Now, as a way to finally close her divorce chapter, Kelly has changed her legal name from KELLY BRIANNE CLARKSON to KELLY BRIANNE.

A California judge granted the 39-year-old her new name earlier this week, as reported by Page Six.

“I just got divorced, so I had to drop my married last name,” she said on March 21 during the premiere of her new show "American Song Contest."

“I just kept my middle name for my personal life. I’m still Kelly Clarkson.”

Well, I'm just happy that Kelly is happy!
