Kanye "Ye" West has once again found himself at the center of discussion online after the rapper publicly demanded an apology from 20-year-old singer Billie Eilish for comments she made during a recent concert that may have been referencing the tragedy that happened at Travis Scott's Astroworld festival.

At one of Billie Eilish's recent shows on her Happier Than Ever tour, the singer stopped the concert when she noticed a fan who appeared to be struggling.

"You need an inhaler?" Billie asks in the video. "Do we have an inhaler? Can we just grab one?"

As medical staff began helping the audience member, Billie asked, "You need to come out or are you OK? Are you sure?" She then added: "I wait for people to be okay before I keep going."

Some fans have speculated that Billie was referencing the recent tragedy at Travis Scott's Astroworld festival.

Musician Ye, commonly known as birth name Kanye West, also seems to believe that Billie was shading Travis, as he took to Instagram to express his displeasure at the situation.

"COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN," Ye shared on Instagram. "TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED."

"NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM," Ye ended his post.

Although Billie has responded to the post, writing, "literally never said a thing about travis. was just helping a fan," in the comments of Ye's post, some fans have leapt to Billie's defense, calling Ye's original post an attempt at "bullying" the young singer.

"Coachella needs to kick @kanyewest out instead. He has proven to be a bully time and again. First Taylor Swift now Billie. Time has come to #CancelKanye," one fan tweeted.

Some fans are commenting on how this reflects on how Ye treats women in the music industry in general, comparing this incident to when he interrupted Taylor Swift at the VMAs in 2009.

One fan tweeted, "even if she was shading travis, she doesn’t owe anyone an apology. kanye goes after young woman who are new in the industry, first taylor now billie. he needs help, like seriously."

At time of writing, Ye has not yet responded to Billie's comment or the following controversy.
