Growing up, most of us wanted to be a Disney princess at some point.
They got to wear tiaras, twirl around in beautiful gowns, and ride off into the sunset with their princes.
But as we’ve gotten older, something had become starling apparent: they weren’t the best role models.
Here are 10+ times Disney princesses made some truly awful decisions.
1. When Ariel jeopardized her family over a man she had never met.

Blame it on the teenage hormones, we guess, but Ariel had her blinders on with this one.
She foolishly gave up her voice, her tail, and her friends and family just to be with a man who she had seen from a distance.
She deserved to be grounded for eternity in the end, not given so much compassion from her friends and family.
Cast in point: her father gave her legs in the end, and she was able to marry Eric and live happily ever after.
Hooray?
2. When Snow White trespassed on the Dwarves property.

After she was released by the Huntsman, she trespassed into a home in the woods.
Without even a second thought, she moves in, sleeps in their beds, and essentially becomes the boss of the household.
3. When Jasmine used her looks to her advantage.

She was totally against men trying to “win her,” but then she has no problem using her femininity and looks to manipulate Jafar.
Then, she waited for Aladdin to come to her rescue.
4. When Snow White bit into the poisoned apple.
Wasn’t she taught not to accept food from strangers?
All we know is that if a creepy old woman who clearly looks evil offers us an apple, we would call 911.
5. When Belle believed that her intellect was better than everyone around her.

We get it, Belle.
You read a lot and no one understands you. This left her feeling like an outsider a lot of the time.
But did she ever consider that her attitude was what made people wary of her?
Given this, it makes no sense that she was upset at the townspeople for taking Gaston’s side — someone they really like — over hers when she wanted them to reconsider killing the Beast.
6. When Cinderella only stood up for herself when she met her Prince.

We love Cinderella, but let’s be honest, she was kind of a doormat.
She let her family walk all over her and only stopped once she had a Prince to back her up!
7. When Ariel gave up her voice for legs.

Why would you give up one of your best talents for a man? Not to mention, a man she had never spoken to before!
This ended up sending a very bad message to young girls.
8. When Anna wanted to marry Hans after only knowing him for a day.

Slow your roll, girl!
It’s no wonder Elsa and Kristoff called her out on it. But does she listen? No. Were they right about him being a jerk in the end? Yes.
9. When Merida put her mom in danger by visiting the witch.

Merida’s selfishness in visiting the witch backfired, as when Merida gives her mother the cake, he accidentally turns her into a bear.
If Merida had just been patient and not strived for power, she wouldn’t have risked her own loving and sweet mother’s life.
10. When Cinderella was ungrateful for her life.
After her father passes away, she’s left living with her evil stepmom and two stepsisters.
While, yes, they don’t treat her kindly by making her cook and clean, they still gave her a roof over her head! Be grateful, girl.
11. When Jasmine believed Aladdin’s lies.

What is this, 90 Day Fiancé ? The dude totally catfished her.
He made up an entire life story, including having a fake kingdom and name, just to end up with her. How can a relationship be built from so many lies?
12. When Mulan joined the army when she didn’t have to.

We’re all for the female empowerment and bravery that Mulan embodied, but a lot of the film’s plot was unnecessary.
She never had to join the army just to save her father.
That’s because Mulan was dismissed from the army since she kept failing more than all the other soldiers.
This clearly means that her father, an injured veteran who could barely walk without a cane, would have been dismissed, too.
13. When Rapunzel risked Flynn’s life by returning to her home.

In hindsight, it may seem like the perfect recipe for a fairytale ending, but realistically Rapunzel was just using Flynn for her own happiness knowing his life was at major risk.
Seems very selfish.
14. When Tiana willingly kissed a frog.

If any man came onto your balcony convincing you to kiss him, would you? Well, how does a frog sound?
We would have taken that frying pan, some oil, and had some delicious frog legs for dinner.
15. When Aurora trusted some guy she met in the woods.
Stranger, danger!
She didn’t know his true identity when they met, and yet, she brought him back to the miller’s cottage. What if he had been hired to kill her?
Her stupidity could have put everyone in danger.

After all, the fairies had her sheltered away and protected for a reason: to hide from the Mistress of All Evil who was trying hard to track her down.
