PSA: We’ve been majorly lied to about Disney princes.
Sure, they’re handsome, rich, and possess more romance than The Bachelor . But if we were to take a closer look, we’d see that a lot of these “Prince Charmings” are actually selfish, egotistical, and in need of a major reality check.
Let’s give them one with this list of 10+ times Disney princes were truly the worst.
1. When Prince Florian dated Snow White when he was 31 and she was 14.

Yes, someone on the internet did the math .
To make things worse, he didn’t get proper consent before he kissed an almost-dead girl.
Even Kristen Bell, who provided the voice of Princess Anna in Disney’s animated film *Frozen* taught her two daughters the dangers of this.
“Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?” she told Parents magazine. “Because you cannot kiss someone if they’re sleeping!”
2. When Aladdin lied to Jasmine about his life.

He straight-up catfished her!
He told her he was a majestic prince from a faraway land and used a fake name. While he eventually came clean, it’s hard to look past so many lies.
3. When Prince Phillip kissed Sleeping Beauty while she was asleep.

Even though true love’s kiss was the only thing that would have broken the spell, it was still wrong of him to basically kiss a corpse without consent.
4. When Prince Charming forgot what Cinderella looked like.

This is just mean!
He spent all night being infatuated with her, but he can’t remember anything about her face? All he has to go off of to find her is a shoe?
5. When Li Shang couldn’t realize that Mulan was female.
Like Prince Charming, this guy is blind.
He was with his troops day and night: as they ate, slept, used the washroom, and trained, but he was unable to figure out that Mulan was female?
6. When Prince Adam imprisoned Belle’s father, Maurice.

Maurice was just trying to find some shelter after he was chased by wolves in the wild.
But instead of giving the old man some comfort, the Beast throws him into his depressing dungeon. 0 stars!
7. When Prince Eric fell for Ariel without knowing anything about her.
After he was rescued from the shipwreck by Ariel, he was completely enamored.
Then, even after meeting her again without her voice, he decided right away that he wanted to marry her.
His ability to fall in love with anyone so easily was extremely fickle.
This was proven again when Ursula takes on human form and sang like Ariel.
Without a second thought, he ditched Ariel for her. Then, he flip-flopped again when Ariel got her voice back and he was back in love with her.
8. When Prince Naveen kept blaming Tiana for his mistakes.

He blamed Tiana for hiding her identity and guilted her about the decisions he had made, like trusting Dr. Facilier.
That was HIS wrongdoing and just one of the few flaws of Prince Naveen.
9. When Flynn Rider was arrogant.
He has many tendencies to be impatient, snarky, and a liar to Rapunzel.
Who would want some boy who lies, taps his foot waiting, and calls you blondie throughout your days?
10. When Hans tricked Anna into falling in love with him.

He’s easily one of the worst “princes” in the Disney universe.
He’s power-hungry, manipulative, and is even willing to murder Anna and Els in order to take over the kingdom.
11. When John Smith and his people were redeveloping Pocahontas’ family’s land.

His ignorance showed a clear lack of empathy and understanding of the natives and their people.
As Pocahontas explains, it’s nature and beauty vs destruction and power.
12. When Peter Pan acted like a jerk to Wendy.
There is a reason ” Peter Pan syndrome ” exists. It’s to describe people who don’t want to grow up, AKA Peter Pan.
He acts like he doesn’t care for Wendy by teasing her and not reciprocating her sweetness.
13. When Kristoff only cared about himself.

He went from being super sweet to super annoying in Frozen 2 .
That’s because he constantly guilted Anna about not being able to spend a lot of time with her. Get over it, dude!
14. When Prince John conspired against his own brother for the throne.

He was one corrupt prince who was willing to do whatever it takes — including betraying his own family — for power.
Then when he usurps the throne, he became a dictator.
15. When Hercules was willing to do whatever it took to remain a “hero.”

With great power comes great responsibility and even though Hercules’ essential goodness is apparent, his craving for heroism leads to many trials and setbacks.
He needed to listen to Phil as he warned him of the consequences of rushing for glory.
16. When Simba was too quick to run from his duties.

Simba couldn’t wait to be king. But, when it came time to step up, he turned his back and ran away.
He let Scar take over his pride and create a mess. If only Simba had gone home and received the help and guidance from his mom and fellow pack members…
17. When Prince Adam basically kidnapped Belle.

While we love his character development at the end of the movie, it’s hard to get past the fact that he held Belle hostage.
There is even a disorder name for their love: Stockholm syndrome.
