Like a book cover, it helps us determine whether we want to watch a movie or not. Sometimes, there are even hidden details that are so clever, they make us go “whoa” once we notice them.

1. *Gone Girl*

2014’s Gone Girl had us believing that Ben Affleck’s character murdered his missing wife.

But what’s hidden in the poster tells a different story.

If you look at the top, you’ll see two female eyes. At first glance, they seem innocent, but after watching the film, you’ll know that she was alive and well the entire time.

2. *Split, Unbreakable*

Basically, if you were to line up the two posters, the cracks would line up, revealing that these two films are indeed from the same universe.

That’s not all. Some fans have found connections between the main characters of the two films.

For example, since the cracks line up, they believe that Mr. Glass is responsible for the powers of Split’s protagonist, Kevin Crumb, played by James McAvoy.

3. *Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull*

Steven Spielberg may have been running out of ideas for the fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise.

In this one, what appears to be blood splatter on the poster is actually an artistic rendition of the paratroopers that stormed Normandy.

This is quite the nod to the U.S., British, and Canadian forces who defended France.
