“How they met” stories are always so fascinating. It’s why there was a whole TV show — How I Met Your Mother — based on the concept.
But not every “love story” started with a meet-cute that even Hallmark would be jealous of.
Some of these first introductions were a little, well, weird. Come see what we mean with these 10+ celeb stories.
1. Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry
The couple can thank fast food for their fast connection.
“He stole one off of my table,” Perry told Jimmy Kimmel about Bloom stealing her In-N-Out burger at the 2016 Golden Globes.
You don’t mess with a woman’s food!
But Katy didn’t mind. “I was sitting with Denzel Washington and he took it and I was like, ‘Wait, who—oh, you’re so hot!”
“Fine, take it.’ And then I saw him at a party, and I was like, ‘How are those onions resting on your molars?’”
2. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez
Now this is weird: J-Lo met her fiancé, A-Rod, while she was with her ex-husband.
There’s even photo-proof of this out there!
The picture was captured in 2005 when Jennifer and Marc Anthony were at a New York Yankees game.
3. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
That ’70s Show fans were absolutely tickled when the longtime friends finally got together in 2012 .
But the road getting there was a little awkward. That’s because they played love interests on the show when Ashton was 19 and Mila was only 14…
4. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard
By looking at them now, you’d have no idea that sparks didn’t fly when they first met.
“The only thing I remember is that he talked so much,” Kristen told Sunday TODAY about their first meeting.
Cut to their chance meeting two weeks later and that’s when the sparks really flew.
“Then a day after that I get a text that says, ‘Hi, my name is Dax. I violated your privacy and got your number from Shauna. How do you feel about that?’ And I was like, ‘Excuse me? You sound stimulating.’”
5. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth
Jim came off as a knight in shining armor by saving Reese from a drunk guy the first night they met.
“He was like, [slurring, scowling, pointing finger in her face] ‘You don’t know me.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. I don’t know you!'” Reese told Elle .
That’s when the talent agent swung into action.
Jim came over and said, “Please excuse my friend. He’s just broken up with someone.” He then got his drunk friend out of there.
“That’s just kind of who he is, a really good person.”
6. Steve Harvey and Marjorie Harvey
This story is weird and sweet and about a million other adjectives.
When Majorie took her seat at Harvey’s stand-up comedy show in 1990, he fell silent. He then took to the mic to profess his love .
“I’m sorry, I don’t know who this is, but I’m going to marry her,” he said.
Talk about a bold move!
Thankfully, this paid off, though, as they reconnected 15 years later in 2005 and got married two years later.
7. David Beckham and Victoria Beckham
While it was love at first sight for this adorable couple, Victoria doesn’t remember much of it.
That’s because she was drunk when she first laid eyes on him in the Manchester United players’ lounge.
8. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
In 2006, Teigen was hired as the love interest of Legend for the music video “Stereo.”
They ended up talking the entire shoot and even went out for In-N-Out afterward. Ah, love! Oh yeah, and Teigen casually admitted that they hooked up, too.
9. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones
This long-time couple went through a few hiccups before they got together in 1996.
First, Douglas walked right by her at a hotel after he had said that he wanted to meet her.
Then when he finally did, he quickly put his foot in his mouth.
He told her , “You know, I’m going to be the father of your children.” Catherine abruptly left dinner after that.
Thankfully he did damage control the next day. The two have been together ever since.
10. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds
They may be one of the cutest couples around, but these two totally got together by accident.
That’s because, after being friends for a long time, they decided to set each other up with other people for a double date.
But since the sparks were flying, they hit it off with each other instead.
“That was the most awkward date because we were just like fireworks coming across,” Ryan told Entertainment Weekly’s SiriusXM show.
Sounds like fate to us!
11. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Just like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, these two ended up together accidentally .
The other person who was supposed to join them for dinner ended up canceling last minute. After that night, they’ve been inseparable.
12. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell
Not many can say that their first date involved the cops. But these can!
After reconnecting when they were older, Kurt stole Goldie’s heart with a cheesy pick-up line : “Man, you’ve got a great figure.”
Being as carefree as she is, she didn’t run.
For their first date, they went back to Goldie’s house. But since she didn’t have a key, they were forced to break in.
“We were in the imaginary bedroom when the police walked in,” Russell told People .
13. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
The NSYNC crooner proved that he was the ultimate gentleman by getting a friend to call Jessica and ask if it was okay if he called her to ask her out.

Luciana was working as a bartender in Miami when Matt just so happened to come in for a drink; he was in town shooting a movie at the time.
Supposedly, Matt hid behind her bar to hide from the crowd. Once he was there, she put him to work mixing drinks for customers.

Ozzy Osbourne was the former frontman for the band Black Sabbath, who were managed by Sharon’s father.

That’s none other than Adam’s future wife, Jackie. They met on set, began dating, and have been married ever since.
27. Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
Dwayne and Gabrielle owe their union to their shared love of football. Back in 2007, the pair were co-hosting a Super Bowl party.
Gabrielle has said that at the time, she was extremely hesitant to date Dwayne due to the fact that he was recently divorced. Their daughter, Kaavia, turns three this year.
28. Will and Jada Pinkett Smith
Will and Jada met on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Jada auditioned for the role of Lisa.
