The world has gone through a huge transformation over the past decade.
More and more people feel free to love who they want to love and wear what they want to wear, gender norms be damned.
That’s not to say that it’s been perfect, though. But we at least have some paving the way for authenticity.
This includes these 10+ celeb parents who don’t let gender norms affect their children.
Society can be pretty brutal sometimes, especially when someone walks to the beat of their own drum.
And especially when it comes to gender norms.
Thankfully, these celeb parents aren’t letting society affect how they raise their children!
1. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
The actress shocked the world in 2012 when she revealed that Shiloh, the biological child she shares with Brad Pitt, “wants to be a boy.”
When this happened, she offered her unconditional support.
“So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers,” she told *Vanity Fair*.
Before this, Brad had shared more about Shiloh’s requests, including asking to be called John.
He explained that it’s something the child has preferred since they were two.
2. Olivia Wilde
In October 2018, Wilde wrote an essay on how she’s encouraging her son to reject traditional gender roles.
“If my son equates his dad’s strength with Wonder Woman, I am given hope,” she began.
“Hope that he never develops the artificial mental barriers — so prevalent in our society — that limit what women can and can’t do,” she wrote.
She also has daughter, Daisy Josephine, who she’s raising to be a feminist.
3. Jaime King
The actress wasn’t the only one wearing a dress when she attended the Incredibles 2 premiere.
Her son was also rocking one! “I love my baby SO MUCH!!! He chose my lipstick and dress with Annabelle Harron,” she wrote .
4. Megan Fox
Back in 2017, the actress shared an image of her son wearing a Frozen -inspired dress.
When this attracted a lot of mommy-shaming, Megan didn’t delete it. She fired back against the naysayers instead.
“We’re going through that now, where I’m trying to teach him to be confident no matter what anyone else says,” she wrote on Instagram.
“He came home and I was like, ‘How was it? Did any of the friends at school have anything to say?’ And he was like, ‘Well, all the boys laughed when I came in,’ but he’s like, ‘I don’t care, I love dresses too much.'”
5. Gwen Stefani
The Voice judge lets her children, Zuma and Kingston, be the judge of how feminine they want to be.
An example of this was when she let Kingston wear a tutu to a birthday party in 2013.
“It’s one of those things where, it’s not like I don’t think about it, but they’re used to being around me, and I’m always doing my hair, makeup, nails,” she told ParadeSource.
“It’s just normal for them. What I like to say is that being unique and original is what makes me happy, and I think that rubs off on them,” she said .
6. Magic Johnson
The basketball star told Ellen DeGeneres that he was so happy when his son, E.G. came out.
“When my son came out, I was so happy for him, and happy for us as parents,” he said .
“And we love him, and E.J. is amazing,” he continued.
He’s perfectly supportive of E.G.’s gender-bending fashion as well.
“It’s all about loving them no matter who they are, what they decide to do,” Magic said.
7. Kate Hudson
The Fool’s Gold actress is taking the same parenting approach to her three kids, regardless of gender.
“I think you just raise your kids individually regardless. We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as,” she told AOL .
8. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
The couple supports their son, Jaden, wearing whatever he wants, regardless of the backlash.

She told Time : “I can’t wait to know who his best friends are going to be, who his girlfriend or his boyfriend is going to be or what movies he likes.”
10. Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union
This couple always does right by their kids.
Last year, Wade stood up for his son when trolls had an issue with his son, Zion, sporting fake nails, and a crop top in this family pic.
Wade tweeted out an epic message of love in response.
“I don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell. I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job,” he later revealed to Variety .
11. Charlize Theron
Last April, the actress confirmed that she is raising her adopted son Jackson as a girl.
“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” she told the Daily Mail . “Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!”
12. Kelly Ripa
Kelly and her husband, Mark Consuelos , are the proud parents of two sons, Michael and Joaquin, and one daughter, Lola.
She once revealed her brilliant parenting advice : “My sons are just as sensitive as my daughter, and my daughter is as strong as my sons.”
Her support hasn’t wavered, even after facing a lot of criticism.
“My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be,” she said.
13. Pink
Pink admitted that she is raising Willow in a label-free household, and simply encourages Willow to be exactly who they want to be.
Her gender-neutral household is clearly something many are doing.
14. Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa
Their child Sebastian was filmed painting his nails!
“We encourage our children to paint, draw and be creative so why block them from their creativity when it comes to self expression? [Expletive] society standards and gender roles! Let your children be great!” Rose wrote on Instagram.
15. Bryce Dallas Howard
Howard allowed her child Beatrice to point her in the right direction when it came to choosing clothes.
She didn’t want to force anything on her child, and because of that, allowed Beatrice to choose whatever they wanted to wear.
16. Russel Brand
“I have re-evaluated the way that I unconsciously looked at gender, because now I’ve got a daughter I think ‘wow, I don’t necessarily need to dress her in clothes that are indicative of her gender’,” he said on This Morning.
17. Zoe Saldana
Saldana loves raising her children in a gender-neutral environment.
“We have a very gender neutral environment where my husband participates in a lot of tasks that were normally given to woman and vice versa,” she told Us Weekly .
“I get to do a lot of male things, which is, I don’t know, put the TV together, fix things that break. We’re so of a very gender fluid household.”
“I think it’s important to raise boys in that environment and girls as well.”
