Most of us wouldn’t think twice about climbing into the back seat of a taxi . But the reality of the situation is that taxi drivers are still strangers, and not all strangers should be trusted.
Recently, a young woman named Daisy posted a panicked video via TikTok about her scary experience with a cab driver. It’s a warning for all to please watch out and be careful.
Daisy begins the video by saying “I’ve just had a scary experience with a taxi driver and it isn’t the first time.”

She was driving home in a Bolt taxi when the driver began making casual conversation. Daisy said that at first she didn’t think anything of it, as it’s quite common for drivers to talk to passengers.
The driver asked Daisy if she was going home or if she lived back at the house where he’d picked her up.

Without thinking, Daisy answered that she was indeed going home. “Then I kind of realized afterward that now he knows the area that I live in.”
Daisy admits that most taxi drivers are perfectly polite and just making conversation.
“But apparently it’s where we have to be careful of everyone now,” she cries through tears and muffled sobs. Once the driver knew where Daisy lived, he told her that he also had a house in the area.
The driver told Daisy that he was renting the house and that he was happy to take her there to see it.

It was at this point that Daisy began to panic. Thinking fast on her feet, she apologized and said she wasn’t able to see the house, as her friend was waiting for her at home.
Still, the driver persisted.

He told Daisy to give him her number so that he could call/text to arrange a time for her to come and see the house. Terror-stricken, Daisy informed the driver that she would take his contact information instead.
Daisy thought that she was in the clear, but after a few minutes the driver broke the silence again.

“A few minutes later he said ‘Oh, I still haven’t got it.’ And I said ‘Got what?’ And he said ‘I’m waiting for you to call me so I have your number’.”
Daisy was able to once again deflect by telling the driver that she’d call him later.
By a stroke of sheer luck, Daisy had input her postal code as opposed to her actual street address — so the driver knew the area but not the exact house she lived in.
After what seemed like an eternity, the car came to a stop and Daisy quickly exited.

Only the driver wouldn’t leave. Fortunately for Daisy, a woman was walking down the other side of the street. She quickly ran to her and explained the situation.
“I was like ‘Can I just pretend to speak to you until this guy goes away?'”

The woman agreed and waited with Daisy until the driver finally gave up, leering as he drove off into the night. Daisy thanked the woman and quickly ran inside.
Daisy reached out to Bolt who saw fit to comment on the situation.
“Hi! We’re very sorry to hear about your experience,” the post began. “Our team investigated the case and took appropriate action.”
What that means, as of right now, remains to be seen.
Daisy is also urging all of her friends and followers to be on guard and to be safe.

What does it say about the world we live in when a young woman can’t even get into a taxi without fear of being sexually harassed or assaulted? We’ve got a long way to go as far as eradicating this type of toxic masculinity from our society.
