Some pics are bound to make you smile . Some pics, pics that might make you smile regardless, have a backstory that just adds to the experience. Let’s dig into the stories behind some of these wholesome, heartwarming slices of life.
“My wife doesn’t want me snacking late at night, but here are these two goons CAUGHT RED HANDED eating MY noodles behind my back. Took this picture as evidence right before I called the police. I hope they have chopsticks in JAIL.”

I love the caption here. Don’t worry, he isn’t really going to send his wife and kid to jail. At least I don’t think he is.
“A very talented graphic designer meets a couple on Twitter.”

It’s incredible how quickly a skilled Photoshopper can create something out of nothing. This couple now has a pic that’s frame-worthy, even if the actual pics that composed it were less than perfect.
“He lives on forever.”

This is bittersweet. While I’m sure the loss of this person’s dad hurts every day, there’s some comfort to be had in the knowledge that he can log into Google Street View and see his dad anytime he wants to.
“A child in Tennessee got made fun of for his homemade University of Tennessee tee, so UT made it their official shirt! The entire band is wearing it and they sold 16,000 shirts! To top that, they gave the child a four-year scholarship. Great job U of Tennessee!”

This is one of those stories where the initial details are infuriating, but the follow-up is incredibly wholesome.
“After being a stay-at-home dad for six years I, 35M, started college alongside my son who just started kindergarten. We got this!”

I would imagine that starting school together — even though one’s going to kindergarten and the other going to college — would be an extra motivator for each of these guys.
“This man at Pakistan’s women’s march.”

I like the simple message on this guy’s sign. There’s nothing to fear in equality, and if equality is something you are afraid of, perhaps it’s time to question what exactly you’re made of.
“This is the kinda energy I love to see.”

It’s an uphill battle for a former convict to put their old life behind them and get a regular job. Even though the deck is stacked against this guy, he’s determined to make it work.
“Kindness is priceless.”

Lots of old folks are unable to tend to the outdoor maintenance of their property. Still, grass keeps growing, so someone needs to step in. It’s nice to see these guys doing something out of the goodness of their hearts.
“Mere seconds after she said yes.”

A photographer was present, so the hubby-to-be probably thought he’d have a great photo of the proposal. As it turns out, he was totally right — even if the end result might not be what he’d expected.
“I just moved into my first very own place and am living 100% independently.”

Anyone who’s ever moved out into their first home knows what a rush it is, so I can only imagine how this guy felt when he got the keys to his new place.
“My Grandma used to paint amazing lifelike scenes until her stroke. This is her only post-stroke artwork, that she swears no one will appreciate. I told her I’d ask my friends what they think.”

Hopefully the positive reinforcement she received from Reddit will inspire her to keep creating art.
“In 2019 I got way too drunk at the office Christmas party & bet my coworker that I would spend 2020 getting fit. I kept my promise and won the bet. I am proud.”

This isn’t an endorsement for getting too drunk, but sometimes you need that extra push to make yourself do something.
“Their dog hasn’t eaten well since they brought their baby home – dog kept taking food into the living room and leaving it there. Someone suggested the dog might be worried the baby isn’t visibly eating, so is “feeding” the baby. They tried giving the baby a bowl of food at the same time. It worked!”

Dogs can show an incredible level of care for babies, and this is just one example.
“Just finished my chemotherapy treatment and all that’s left is steroids and radiotherapy and then I’m cancer free.”

This guy still has a decently long road ahead of him, but he’s gotten through some of the worst of it. That’s worth celebrating.
“The first number on my scale has been a ’2’ for the past 21 years, but not today.”

It took me a second to piece this together, then I got it. Good for this person. Even if it’s just a hair under 200, that’s still an improvement over the past 20 years.
“Neighbor kid started a new business and I’m his first customer.”

I love the way this is written. It’s clear that this kid really loves dogs, and that their love of dogs takes precedence over any money they might earn from this.
“In Palermo (Italy), a citizen went to the police station to return a credit card found on the street. Within minutes the policemen were able to trace the identity of the card holder: Harrison Ford.”

What a thrill! The Italians got to meet Han Solo, while Harrison Ford, well, he got his credit card back.
“Packed up and moved my entire life 3,200+ miles clear across the country to live closer to my autistic younger brother whom I haven’t seen in 15 years due to long distance. His smile alone made it all worth it!”

These two clearly have to make up for a lot of lost time, but it looks like things are going great so far.
“Our daughter wasn’t eating for weeks due to effects from chemo and being very sick, finally home from the hospital, I made spaghetti and she finally would eat! Celebrating small victories here!!”

It’s always concerning when someone’s illness prevents them from eating, and it’s always gratifying when they’re finally able to eat again.
“This person won Halloween.”

It’s awesome to see this DMV employee poking fun at the perception of his job. Also, this allows him to do his job very slowly while pretending it’s all commitment to his character. Yeah, he probably did win Halloween this year.
