There are tons of after-school activities and extra classes and sports that parents oftentimes want to send their children to. Some cost money, while others are free. Some people are kind enough to offer classes for free, and many parents—especially those who can’t afford them otherwise—usually appreciate these efforts.
However, there are some parents who give these people some problems, despite their time and kindness.
A Reddit user, who is a swim teacher, recently shared a text thread between her and such a parent.

From the start, this mother seemed to be a bit over the top. The mom asked if the swim instructor can teach her son, as well, and asked if the classes were indeed free.
When the swim instructor did not answer immediately, the mom texted several times.
The instructor answered, however, not “quick enough.”

The mother seemed to find her response “rude” and then inquired what time to bring her son to the pool.
The swim instructor replied that she would be swimming alone that day, but would text the mother the next time she is teaching a class.
However, the mom would not take “no” as an answer.

The mom still pushed to bring her son to the pool and also requested the instructor “answer faster.”
The instructor explained her reasoning for not teaching that day, but the mother argued she “already told her son he would swim that day.”
The instructor tried to explain her reasoning, again.

The mom then said that it was “better” because no other children would be there because she wanted one-on-one instruction for her son.
The instructor said she couldn’t just teach one person, to which the mom replied that her son has anxiety issues and “she had to teach him alone.”
As you can see from all the messages, the trainer was being very nice about the whole thing.
The instructor said she was uncomfortable teaching her son alone, especially because she is not certified.

The mom stepped back saying she meant he “just doesn’t like other kids.” Then, the mom said that the instructor can teach him for one month alone, then with the other kids.
She then texted, again, saying she would bring her son at 1 the following day and to also make sure the instructor brings goggles for her son.
So as you can clearly see, she was really not getting the message.
The instructor, again, told the mother no.

Then, the mom began to get nasty. She called the instructor a selfish [explicit] and tried to make her feel bad by telling her she’s a “single mom” and asked, “if she had any heart.”
The instructor stopped answering, so the mom began to double and triple text.
The rest, well, is a bit insane.

When not hearing back, the mom told the instructor that she will “throw her son in the pool at 1” and “if something happens to him” the instructor is responsible.
And it got worse still!
She then began to undermine the instructor, saying she “works less hours” and judged other parents for getting free lessons, when they don’t need it and she does.
The mother then said the instructor should “get money from other parents” and “give it to her.”

The mom then told the instructor that the other parents are “rich” and “privileged” and they don’t need the free lessons.
She also claimed the instructor doesn’t need the money, so she should start charging and then giving the mother the money, instead.
She said if the instructor “refused” to teach her son alone, she could “at least” get her the money.
Clearly, people online were confused.

Many on Reddit thought this was “comedic gold,” but others were genuinely concerned that this woman is a parent.
“Ah yes, the classic “drown your child on a pool and blame somebody else miles away” trick.”
“Works like a charm,” one person said.
“The correct reaction is to ask for her name and her kid’s name, and then tell her they are both banned from your classes,” another shared.
