Weddings are one of the most magical – and stressful – days in a couple’s lives. So many things can and do go wrong. We asked our Mommy Needs Vodka readers about the worst weddings they’ve ever been to, and trust me when I say they did not hold back in spilling some major wedding tea. Let’s go!
That’s one way to use the catering
“At my wedding, one of my bridesmaids started a food fight with her older sister ….with my WEDDING CAKE…as it was being cut. I was devastated!!! We are talking grown women,” Yvonne revealed.
I don’t care how close I am to my friends – if they ruin my wedding by starting a food fight, they are getting so much more than cake thrown in their faces.
This wedding planner really stole the show
Rachelle shared a frankly horrifying wedding planner gone criminally wrong story about her own wedding. “At my wedding we found out that our wedding planner took all the money we paid the venders, flowers, food and so on and removed their company names on the checks and put her name on them instead. We had to take her to court and she served a 10 year sentence. It was a mess.”
Here’s hoping she also had to pay all that money back. What a thief!
Happy Birthday!
“The bride and 2 bridesmaids all went into labor.”
I am dying to know more about this story. Were the babies all early, or did they pick a date close to all 3’s due dates and just hoped it wouldn’t happen? I bet those kids will hear about the day they “crashed” a wedding for the rest of their lives!
These opposites should not have attracted
“A literal fight between the bride and groom. Didn’t even spend their wedding night together. They were throwing punches over who smashed cake on whom first.”
I am hoping against all hope that those two got divorced ASAP. Having a fist fight with your spouse on your wedding day doesn’t exactly set the stage for a stable marriage, after all.
I don’t think brown was one of the chosen wedding colors
“It wasn’t a bad wedding by any means but something horrible happened, the maid of honor wasn’t feeling well and everybody assumed it was just nerves. During the ceremony it turned out that she actually had the flu and lets just say she needed a lot of clean up on aisle 2 and the priest calmly and quietly grabbed a w*d of paper towels and cleaned up the floor near the alter and she rushed in the back and her dress was rush to the cleaners,” Karen shared.
If that happened to me, you would not see me again. I would be moving out of the country, changing my name, and never speaking to anyone at that wedding ever again. I would not be able to recover from that one.
Toss the whole man away
Maire spilled some tea about a very badly behaved groom. “The Groom didn’t turn up – he’d gone on the honeymoon with his new girlfriend!!!”
The bride really dodged a bullet there. I hope she got sweet revenge on that absolute monster, and I hope she took herself on a honeymoon just for her afterwards.
Hot food + a hot day = Unhappy guests
“It was 1,000 degrees in an un-airconditioned metal building and they served hot tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.”
Listen. Grilled cheese and tomato soup are perfectly fine options for wedding food if they’re your favorite things to eat as a couple, but not when it’s hotter than actual h**l outside. Don’t do that to your poor guests!
A wedding is not the place to throw hands
“A food fight because 1 cousin had a past beef with one of the groomsmen and it ultimately turned into a fist fight outside- then once it was done and cleaned up everyone hugged and they made up – danced all night after – weirdly it was one of the most fun nights ”
I’m happy that the wedding party had a good attitude about it, because I would fully cry if someone decided to get a fist fight at my wedding. At least they all had fun?
A wedding is also not a place for STABBINGS
This one blew my mind. Vincenza said, “The groom and old frenemy got into a fight and long story short groom was stabbed. Not serious but poor bride’s dress looked like a real crime scene. Italian family of course mortified.”
This sounds like the start of a horror movie. Or the end. Either way.
