One of the biggest struggles faced by breastfeeding moms is finding a quiet place to nurse or pump milk that’s not a public washroom. Walmart is making it easier for nursing moms by rolling out “breastfeeding” pods in some of its stores and all we can say is, “Finally!”
Many breastfeeding moms know the struggle of finding a private place to feed to their baby or pump milk.
That’s why one company decided to find a solution. Mamava is behind these portable “breastfeeding pods” that can be installed in just about any public place. Many people have seen them in airports across the country.
Now Walmart has become the first major retailer to test the Mamava pods in its stores.
Three Walmart locations in Bentonville, Arkansas, Gilbert, Arizona and Williston, Vermont will have the pods available for shoppers and Walmart associates to use.
The idea to implement the pods in stores came from one Walmart employee who used the pods at an airport while traveling for work.

Tennille Webb, a senior business relations manager for the company, used the pod to pump breastmilk and thought shoppers and workers alike would benefit.
Each pod contains everything a nursing mom needs.

Besides privacy, they are equipped with outlets to plug in a breast pump and offer a comfy place to sit. Moms can also adjust the airflow and lighting in the pod. Based on feedback in these three pilot stores, Walmart might add more pods to the rest of its retail locations.
