The 97th Academy Awards took place yesterday on Sunday 2 March at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles and it was a big event indeed.

Mick Jagger made an appearance
Mick Jagger, who hasn’t been in the public eye in a while, made a rare appearance on stage at the Oscars that left people stunned at his age. Viewers couldn’t believe that the English rockstar is 81 years old.
One person on X/Twitter wrote, “Mick Jagger is still an apex rock star. That man is 81 years old.”
He certainly looked younger
People pointed out that he looks younger than his actual age and well, we can’t dispute that.
“Mick Jagger looks pretty d**n good for 81,” another person remarked, with a third writing, “Mick Jagger is really 81 years old? He looks outstanding!”
The rockstar got a standing ovation
As Jagger took to the stage he received a well-deserved standing ovation from the star-studded audience and people watching at home were equally thrilled by the musician’s appearance.
One fan wrote, “Standing ovation for Mick Jagger at the #Oscars simply for being Mick Jagger. I, too, stood up at home, audibly gasped in shock and applauded. A LEGENDDD.”
Jagger’s girlfriend also made an appearance
The hitmaker was joined by his 37-year-old girlfriend Melanie Hamrick at the pre-Oscars dinner party which took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Polo Lounge in Los Angeles.
The two had met backstage at a 2014 Rolling Stones show in Tokyo, striking up a friendship followed by a relationship that gave the pair their only son Deveraux ‘Devi’ Octavian Basil Jagger in 2016.
