Tyler Perry has done it again! The notoriously generous actor, director, producer, and writer is always making headlines for his generosity in the face of adversity, and this current pandemic has been no different.
Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.
Perry has been doing his part during this pandemic to help those less fortunate.
He recently provided 42 out-of-work servers at a restaurant with a $21,000 tip to help them through this tough time when they can’t be serving.
Now, it turns out he’s helping the elderly as well.
“CONFIRMED: @tylerperry paid for all groceries during Seniors Hour at 44 Atlanta-area @Kroger stores,” shared Atlanta reporter Brendan Keefe on Twitter alongside pictures of a few of the lucky recipients.
“Look at these faces — you can see the smiles and tears through the masks!”
“He wanted to be known only as Atlanta Angel,” Brendan added in a follow-up tweet, pointing out that Perry wasn’t just attempting to garner goodwill for himself.
“So glad Tyler Perry isn’t afraid to show how big his heart is,” one fan responded on Twitter.
What an amazing gesture that must’ve made such a huge impact on the senior community in Atlanta.
