Donald Trump’s catching heat again, this time over golf.
A video’s been making the rounds online, and people are saying it shows him cheating on the course.
Now, everyone knows golf’s kind of his thing. He had a bunch of golf courses even before he got into politics. It’s his favorite sport by far.
Trump’s golfing habits have drawn frequent attention
Since he got back to the White House earlier this year, Trump’s been out golfing a lot.
Out of 189 days this year, he’s already spent at least 45 of them on golf trips. Back in March, people noticed he’d been to Mar-a-Lago six times in just three months. Clubs in hand, of course.
A video from Scotland sparked the latest outrage
Now this latest video is from his fancy Turnberry resort in Scotland has been getting a lot of buzz.
In the clip, you see his caddy walking ahead of him, and it kinda looks like he drops a ball on the ground behind him just as Trump pulls up in his golf cart.
People are saying it’s pretty clear what’s going on.
Social media users did not hold back their reactions
As soon as the video hit X (formerly Twitter), the phrase “commander in cheat” blew up online.
One person tweeted, “Trump’s golf game is as dishonorable as his political game,” and someone on Reddit added, “Well if that ain’t a perfect metaphor.”
Critics say he’s ignoring problems back home
While he was off enjoying his Scotland trip, Americans were dealing with rising grocery prices and all kinds of other issues.
Critics pointed that out real quick. They weren’t too thrilled seeing him out there playing two full rounds of golf while the country’s struggling.
Golf and diplomacy have blended during this trip
Even though it looked like a getaway, Trump did squeeze in some official stuff.
He golfed before meeting with EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, and they finally agreed on a US-EU trade deal.
He also met UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney right on the course.
The visit’s also tied to his plans for opening another 18-hole course at his Menie estate in Aberdeenshire.
Cheating accusations are not new
This whole cheating thing isn’t exactly new for him. People have been saying it for years.
Rick Reilly even wrote a whole book about it called Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump.
Even caddies and celebrities have called him out
In that book, Reilly said, “At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele.”
It’s not just authors either. Big names like Samuel L. Jackson and LPGA pro Suzann Pettersen have also called him out before for cheating during games.
Trump and his team continue to deny the claims
Trump has always denied the cheating stuff, and the White House insists the Scotland trip was just a “working trip.”
But the internet seems to think otherwise.
