It’s time to settle an age-old debate: Who is the best movie Santa Claus of all time?
For years, the winner was clear: Who doesn’t love Tim Allen in The Santa Clause films, learning to fill the role and fill those very big boots? Obviously, it’s him!
But in recent years there’s been a new contender in Kurt Russell in The Christmas Chronicles , and I just have to say it: Kurt comes out on top.
There are a number of reasons why Kurt Russell’s Santa is better than Tim Allen’s Santa.
First of all, I hate to say it, but it’s true: sex sells, and Kurt’s Santa is just plain hotter than Tim Allen’s. It’s not Tim’s fault! They weren’t trying to make a hot Santa in The Santa Clause , and he looks just fine in the role, but frankly, there’s just no competing with Kurt Russell.
Call me crazy, but I’m not the only one who thinks so.
People agree with me. Lots of people . Just search “Kurt Russell” or “hot Santa” on any social media platform and you’ll see what I mean.
Why would I want to watch a regular Santa when I could watch a hot one?
Second of all, *The Santa Clause* is a little bit traumatizing.
Nowhere in The Christmas Chronicles does it imply that Santa is mortal and can die, whereas Santa dying is kind of the whole point of The Santa Clause .
If you want your kids to watch a Santa Claus movie where you get to enjoy some eye candy AND you won’t have your kids crying about Tim Allen accidentally murdering Old Kris Kringle, Kurt Russell is going to win every time.
Finally, Kurt Russell’s Santa just has more Christmas spirit.
Yes, we all love watching Tim Allen learn to love his new job as Santa, but there’s something just more Christmassy about Kurt Russell, who’s Santa from start to finish.
