Our brains tend to expect the expected , which makes total sense. But that just makes things all the more confusing when you come across something that makes seemingly no sense.
We’re not going to pretend we have the answers that these photos will inevitably demand. All we can do is share in the confusion.

“Still don’t understand the layout of this cemetery.”
It seems like a pretty defined path that shouldn’t be broken up by anything, but I guess the landscaper had other ideas.

Yes, it looks like the pictogram is peeing in his own face. But even putting that aside, I have no idea what it’s trying to communicate.

The thing about pie charts is that they’re supposed to precisely represent something. You can’t just throw pie chart clipart on any old statistic.

This is probably designed to be an inspirational saying of some kind, but all I see is random words on a building.
“The built-in USB charger in my hotel lamp wasn’t working so I turned it over to take a look.”
This USB port gives the user the satisfaction of plugging stuff into it, even if it isn’t connected to anything.
“Medium degrees centigrade.”
If they didn’t have the Celsius label here, this temperature gauge would be fine. But they do have the label, and that makes things weird.
“Opening the box with the pull tab destroys both heating instructions and customer service contact number.”
To be fair to the company, this might not be an example of lousy design. Maybe they just really don’t want anyone calling them.
“This barrier blocking the bicycle path.”
This would be a fun surprise for any cyclist who’s taking this route at night without a headlight.
“My wife helped me sunscreen my back at beach day today (TWICE)!!”
Clearly this guy’s wife subscribes to the “just randomly smear it on” school of sunblock application theory.
“Subway’s new ‘extra crispy’ bacon.”
I didn’t think it was possible, but this photo may have just turnd me off of bacon for life.
“Who did this? I need answers.”
This kind of reminds me of those times when you’re trying to fit in at a social event where you don’t know anyone.
“Why is this a thing?”
In the 21st century, it’s nice to know that computers have advanced to the point of needing an app to use Ctrl+C.
“Box says 90°, yet it’s a 45°.”
The box not only says 90°, it even has an image depicting 90°. Oh well, I guess pobody’s nerfect.
“I don’t know Lauren, but I know I don’t like her.”
This is an absolute atrocity. They even picked books whose pages had gotten all gross and yellowed to make this extra unappealing.
“Used to sit here while waiting to be picked up and then they added these.”
It’s always disappointing when a municipality would rather stab you in the butt that provide you with a convenient place to sit.
“And y’all were worried about masks in the airport.”
There has to be an epic story here if they bothered making up signs, complete with goose art, to warn commuters.
“Why? Why did you put that one word in quotes?”
Putting a random word in quotes has a way of creating so many questions. Like, after reading this sign, I’m absolutely convinced something shady is going on here.
“This shopping cart that destroys your shins if you’re tall.”
I’d like to put aside the shin thing and ask this: what kind of weirdo uses a shopping cart to buy one bottle of Gatorade?
“Hello Fresh sent my carrots for one meal in eight separately sealed plastic bags.”
Between stuff like this and the way Amazon packages goods, I’m not sure we’ll ever reduce our plastic consumption.

To be fair, they’re probably making antique tables every day. The wrinkle is that they won’t technically be “antique” for another half-century or so.
