Every now and then some piece of media comes along that captures what seems like the entire world’s hearts all at once, whether it was the drama from Tiger King or the mystery of American Murder: The Family Next Door .
The latest Netflix original to capture the world’s attention is The Queen’s Gambit , a scripted limited-series following a young woman on her quest to become the world’s greatest chess player.

On paper you might not expect a show about chess to be so successful, but the show is wildly entertaining, incredibly stylish, and full of characters we love, so it really just makes sense that it’s been taking off the way it has!
Netflix has announced that the show has become its most-watched limited series ever!
They report the show had 62 million member accounts tuning in the first 28 days who watched at least two minutes of the program. Those are some incredible numbers, especially for a brand new limited series that nobody saw coming!
The series was in the top 10 in 92 countries and ranked no. 1 in 63 countries.
That’s incredible, and, in my opinion, extremely well deserved!
