1999’s The Mummy was kind of a cultural reset . It was a super fun film that still holds a special place in our hearts, over two decades later.
And of course, since the film is kind of old now (oh, how time flies), it’s nice to look back on the cast and see where they are today. And they’ve definitely gone places.
Arnold Vosloo.

The film’s big bad, High Priest Imhotep, portrayed by Vosloo, was revived by Johnathan and Evelyn during the course of the story. He loses in the end, but Vosloo ended up returning to play Imhotep in the film’s 2001 sequel.
He’s since been acting in a number of shows and movies.

Vosloo’s career definitely hasn’t slowed down since appearing as The Mummy ‘s eponymous villain. He’s been in a number of shows, including 24 , NCIS , Bones , and most recently, the Netflix show, Ludick .
In addition to TV, Vosloo’s been busy working on movies.

He was recently in the Netflix film, Silverton Siege . Over the decades, he’s been in numerous other films, including Blood Diamond , GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra , and GI Joe: Retaliation .
Kevin J. O’Connor.

Once a friend and ally of Rick O’Connell, O’Connor’s Beni Gabor turns to the dark side, pledging to help Imhotep carry out his plans. Considering his death at the end of the movie, it makes sense that O’Conner doesn’t return for the sequel.
But he still went on to appear in many other things.

O’Connor was in Van Helsing , There Will Be Blood , and even joined Arnold Vosloo in GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra . Most recently, he was in 2020’s Wish Upon A Unicorn .
And of course, he appeared on the small screen many times.

O’Connor has gone on to appear in TV series and mini series, including Chicago P.D. , The Mob Doctor , 11.22.63 , Catch-22 , and most recently, On Becoming a God in Central Florida .
Patricia Velasquez.

Velasquez portrayed the Pharaoh’s mistress, Anck Su-Namun, with whom Imhotep was having an affair during the film’s prologue. Like most of the cast, she returned for 2001’s The Mummy Returns , reprising her role.
And since then, she’s done a number of things.

She’s had a number of recurring roles on TV shows like Arrested Development , The L Word , and American Family. She also guest starred in CSI: Miami and Ugly Betty.
As for films, Velazquez’s resume is pretty lengthy.

She’s appeared in numerous films like Mindhunters , The Curse of La Llorona , and Malignant . Most recently, she was in the 2022 film, Free Dead or Alive .
John Hannah.

Hannah stars in The Mummy as Evelyn’s brother, Johnathan. He and O’Connell are at odds in early parts of the film, but eventually work together by the end. Of course, Hannah appears in the film’s sequel.
And he went on to do many things.

Hannah’s been in a bunch of TV shows since The Mummy first released. You can see him in New Street Law , Spartacus: Blood and Sand , Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , and Transplant , to name a few.
And he did plenty of movies to boot.

He was in The Mummy ‘s other sequel, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor , as well as a number of short films. Most recently, he starred in the 2021 film The Auschwitz Report .
Rachel Weisz.

One of the stars of the film, Weisz portrayed Evelyn Carnahan in both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns , who was almost sacrificed by Imhotep over the course of the first film. Over the years, she’s had plenty of success as a movie star.
She’s gone on to be in plenty of films.

Her film credits include Constantine , About a Boy , The Lovely Bones , The Constant Gardner (for which she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress), and The Favourite (which got her a nomination). Most recently, she was in 2021’s Black Widow.
She has appeared on TV, too.

Weisz guest starred in an episode of The Simpsons , and has been in a few TV movies. She’s set to star as the Mantle Twins in an upcoming television adaptation of Dead Ringers .
And of course, Brendan Fraser.

Where would The Mummy (and its two sequels) be without its leading man? Portraying Rick O’Connell, Fraser’s career had nowhere to go but up. Unfortunately, he disappeared from the public eye for a number of years.
Though, that doesn’t mean he stopped working.

He definitely continued acting over the years, appearing as a recurring character in Scrubs , and voicing a character in Fairly Odd Parents . Lately, his career has had a huge resurgence, which some have dubbed the “Brenaissance. “
And now, he’s back.

Fraser recently starred in The Whale , which had its premier at the Venice Film Festival . Fans loved it (and him) so much, he received a 6-minute standing ovation when the film ended.
He was also set to play the villain in the HBO Max Batgirl movie, which ended up being cancelled .
