It’s been a dramatic year for one of Teen Mom ‘s original stars, not least because she’s just revealed she’s filed for divorce from her husband of two years after a highly dramatic year.
Jenelle Evans announced she was filing for divorce six months after her husband, David Eason, shot and killed their dog, Nugget.
Nugget had allegedly bitten their two year old daughter, Ensley. Although many fans were outraged by this behavior, Jenelle did not end the relationship at this point.

The couple had faced a lot of difficulties in their relationship since the incident with the dog.
They temporarily lost custody of their children due to an animal abuse charge and investigation, although they did regain custody after no evidence of animal cruelty was found.
In fact, the statement made by the police implied the entire event may have been made up for publicity.
Jenelle denied the implication but admitted she wasn’t sure exactly what had happened to the dog as she wasn’t home at the time, but had eventually forgiven Eason.
That may have changed, as Jenelle has announced she is filing for divorce.
“Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end,” Jenelle told TMZ.
“But I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids,” she said . “Today I’ve filed papers to start that process.”
Eason did not seem to react well.
Eason made and then deleted several posts to his Instagram story.
Initially, he shared a screenshot of a TMZ post claiming Jenelle was seeking full custody of their daughter due to his past violent behavior , and then he shared a post detailing a 2018 story about Jenelle allegedly following another driver home and brandishing a gun, captioning the story, “But this okay.”
Eason also shared a photograph of his daughters, where he got into a bit of trouble.
Despite the post only being about spending the day with his children, someone in the comments of the post stated “so glad Jenelle got smart,” referring to the upcoming divorce.
Eason replied, “Nope, she’s still stupid.”
Some replied to Eason, quoting old Instagram captions of the couple he had made, saying, “but she was the most perfect sight you have ever seen? You couldn’t sleep without her? Now you’re mad?” with Eason responding and saying simply, “Yea.”
This is definitely going to get messier before it gets better.
The last time Eason made headlines was during an interview where he admitted that he had shot their dog.
“It was a situation where my daughter, her health, her safety was in danger,” he said . “This was something that nobody wants to ever have to do. The dog was aggressive. “
“Yes, she might not be huge or whatever, but you know when a dog bites a child on the face more than one time, then it should never be around the child again.”
Eason continued to justify his actions, saying, ““If you give the dog up for adoption, one day it’s going to be around children again. If you call the authorities at that point, the law says the dog has to be euthanized.”
“I’m not going to pay anyone to euthanize my dog when I could do it myself.”
“I mean, I loved that dog,” Eason said. “I still think about her every day. It’s really hard for me. A lot of people put me down for it, they hate me for it, but like I said it was not something I wanted to do.”
Jenelle also spoke out about how it had affected her.
Answering a fan’s question on her Instagram story, Jenelle stated that the couple were on bad terms “for almost a week,” but at the time stated that their relationship had “got a lot stronger.”
It looks like that may not have been the case after all.
